Chapter Thirty-Five

NORMANI

Normani knew that her and Dinah would be paired together. It just made sense. What didn't make sense was how everyone else got a chance to train before them. Well, everyone except Kehlani and Victoria. Though the situation seemed a little cliché, the ebony preferred it that way. She's only ever seen Kehlani's combat skills, and that was only because they worked together. She's never seen Victoria in action. And she was very eager to see Dinah's skills. Neither of them disappointed once the time came for their match to begin. It was a very close call, but Kehlani and Victoria ended up winning their match – to no one's dismay.

"Does Lani even have a weakness?" Dinah asked her as they made their way down to the medical lab.

Normani chuckled.

"Of course, she does," Normani answered. "Her one weakness was fighting alongside her against us."

"That's so romantic...what about you?"

"What about me?"

"Do you have a weakness I should know about?"

"Well...I think it's obvious that my family is my weakness. But you're a part of that now. So, in all honesty...my weakness is you."

Dinah smiled.

"You're mine, too," she said.

The two of them arrived in the medical lab, Callie smiling at them as she got everything ready.

"Hello ladies," she smiled. "Ready to learn more about your bodies?"

"Let's do it," Normani answered.

"Awesome," the Latina said. "We'll begin with you. First thing I need you to do is strip. Too many layers can prevent the scanner from detecting inner bodily functions."

"So..." the ebony said, "...you want me naked?"

"No," Callie chuckled. "Just strip down to your bra and panties."

Normani did so with Dinah drinking her in.

"Yummy..." the blonde smirked.

Normani chuckled before playfully rolling her eyes. She made her way over to the scanner, standing inside of it before closing her eyes. A red beam ran up and down her body before an outline of it appeared on a hologram nearby. The image showed the ebony's body heat temperatures, heart levels, DNA, etc. Dinah's eyes widened at the sight while Callie looked over the image intensely.

"You have a lot more strength than the average hybrid," she observed. "That's good – means you're not easy to take down. Heart rate's normal...blood cells are at a good count...you're up on your blood intake so there's no sign of fatigue or body weakness..."

"So," Normani said, coming out of the scanner, "I'm basically healthy as a horse."

"To say the least," Callie smiled. "I doubt you're taking any medication, so modifying anything would be tactless. But I've been working on a serum that supplies strength for extreme circumstances. It could be a big help for you."

"Sounds good to me," Normani smiled.

"Great! I'll add it to your medical file. Now, for the woman of the hour."

Dinah smiled before discarding her clothes until she was in only her bra and panties. She entered the scanner as Callie looked to her hologram, Normani doing the same as she put her shirt back on. She watched as Callie's eyebrows began to furrow slightly, her brown eyes growing with concern. She looked at Dinah's hologram, only to find that everything looked normal.
