QUINCY

Today was a surprisingly chill day for Quincy. He thought he would have to sit in on another session, only to get a call that rough mixes were already completed. So, aside from small meetings and a few business calls here and there, Quincy didn't do much of anything for most of his time in Q-Music Studios. If he was being honest, he couldn't stop thinking about Dinah. While yes, he was able to comfort and be there for her, he didn't feel right leaving her to go to work. She assured him that Victoria would take care of her in the meantime, and he had no doubts that the ebony did just that, but it was his job to take care of the brunette. Just as he was about to give Dinah a call to see where she was, his office phone began to ring. Looking at the extension number, he knew that it was the front desk.

"Hey, Liz," Quincy greeted. "What's up?"

"Hi, Mr. Brown," Liz replied. "Ms. Jane is here to see you. It's important."

Quincy quickly became worried.

"Tell her to sit tight," he said. "I'm on my way down."

Quincy wasted no time in getting to the elevator. His heart rate began to rise the closer he got to the lobby floor. Though he was certain that Dinah wasn't in any harm, he was still very protective over her. Especially after everything that she had recently gone through. As soon as the elevator doors opened, he was more than relieved to see the brunette's smiling face. Without uttering a word, he brought Dinah into his body and gave her a lingering kiss. His body decompressed at the feeling of her lips curling up into a smile against his as she melted against him. He brought his forehead to hers as their eyes bored into one another.

"I must've been out of my damn mind for letting you be away from me this long..." he sighed.

Dinah giggled as she caressed his face.

"We've only been apart for twenty-four hours," she said.

"That's twenty-four hours too long," Quincy replied. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah," Dinah smiled. "Is there someplace we can talk in private?"

"Of course."

Quincy took Dinah's hand and led her to one of the studio's private lounge rooms. He took a seat in one of the chairs but furrowed his eyebrows when Dinah didn't make a move to do the same. He was about to get back up, only for Dinah to stop him.

"Actually..." she said, "...you might wanna sit down for this."

"Baby," Quincy said, "what's goin' on? I'm getting a little worried."

"Okay..." Dinah said, taking a deep breath, "...Q...I'm pregnant..."

Quincy's entire body froze. He eyed his girlfriend closely as he slowly rose from his seat. He brought his hands to the brunette's shirt and lifted it to see that she was already showing. But it wasn't until he rested his hands directly on her stomach that the news had finally set in. He looked back up into Dinah's eyes before caressing her cheek.

"You're..." he uttered, "...we're..."

"We're having a baby..." Dinah smiled.

Quincy released the most joyous sound before scooping Dinah in his arms, her giggling her heart out as they kissed.

"I fucking love you..." he uttered against her lips.

"I love you more," Dinah blushed.

"Not even possible."

Quincy continued to hold her before gently bringing her back to her feet. He brought her on his lap as he sat back down in the nearest chair. He brought Dinah's shirt back up to rub her stomach again, a proud smile on his face as soon as Dinah's hand touched his.

"I'm hoping it's a boy," the brunette said.

"Yeah?" Quincy smiled.

"Mhmm...I always wanted to have a son."

"Alright, bet...let's make it happen then."

Dinah chuckled.

"What do you mean?"

"We'll manifest our baby being a boy. His pronouns will be he/him...you know, at least until he's old enough to determine that type of thing for himself."

Dinah smiled as they continued to rub her stomach.

"Sounds like a plan."

Quincy smiled as he looked up to her and bopped her nose.

"We definitely gotta think of a name," he said.

The two fell into a comfortable silence as they thought.

"...Aiden..." Dinah said.

Quincy smiled instantly at the name. He looked down at the brunette's stomach and held it gently with both of his hands.

"Hey lil' man," Quincy said. "It's pops. Me and your mom can't wait to meet you. I hope you treatin' her good."

"He's not a fan of going up and down stairs," Dinah chuckled.

Quincy smiled as he rubbed his thumb against her stomach.

"You know you're not gonna be on your feet for the rest of this pregnancy, right? In fact, I'm gonna have you stay with me."

"Actually, Jordin's having me stay with her at her house. And before you freak out, she already arranged for you and Adeya to come up and stay with us tomorrow. I'll explain more on it later."

Quincy could do nothing but smile.

"Is that where you're headed now?"

"Yeah. A friend of mine is giving me a ride there."

"Looks like you have it all figured out. Don't worry though...I have something planned for you soon..."

"Oh yeah?" Dinah smirked. "Like what?"

"Oh, baby girl..." Quincy said, "...I can't reveal all my secrets."

His heart warmed at the sound of the brunette's laugh. He slowly got up and took Dinah's hand. They walked out of the building before Quincy's sights landed on a shiny, maroon Camaro. His was impressed with the ride.

"I'm guessing that's your friend's car," he said.

"Yeah," Dinah smiled, Quincy noticing that she was eyeing the car with a certain gleam in her eye. "She would come out to say hi, but we have a long drive to the Poconos. Don't worry though. You'll get to meet her soon."

Quincy smiled before bringing Dinah closer to his body.

"Adeya and I will see you tomorrow," he said, getting lost in her eyes.

"Can't wait," Dinah blushed. "But don't tell her about the pregnancy yet, okay? I want us both to tell her."

"I got you, baby."

Quincy bid his lover goodbye with a kiss before watching her get into the Camaro. He couldn't see much of her, but whoever she was had the most piercing ember eyes. The exact same shade he remembered Dinah's eyes turning to back when they were in California. He chalked it up to mere coincidence, though. What he really had to worry about was cancelling all his meetings for tomorrow and getting him and Adeya packed for the trip up to the Poconos. He was going to be there every step of the way for Dinah during her pregnancy and birth. His family was growing, and he couldn't be more excited...
