Chapter Forty-Eight

NORMANI

It was during the wee hours of the night when Normani pulled up into Jordin's driveway. All the lights in the lake house were off, telling the ebony that everyone was fast asleep. After shutting off her car engine, Normani entered the house quietly. She was pleasantly surprised to see Dinah making her way down the stairs one at a time. The ebony chuckled in astonishment before taking both of the brunette's hands and helping her the rest of the way down.

"I know you usually like to help me," Dinah said quietly, "but I just couldn't wait to see you. I missed you..."

Normani chuckled before capturing Dinah's lips, holding her close as they both breathed deeply.

"I missed you, too..." Normani smiled, "...you have no idea..."

The ebony melted against Dinah's forehead kiss before allowing the brunette to lead her to the living room. They were able to see the full moon as it shone bright from above, illuminating the room around them. They laid beside one another on the couch before enjoying the view.

"How long do we have until Q or Adeya realize you're not in bed?" Normani asked.

"Don't worry about that," Dinah smiled. "Chloe put a sleep spell on them earlier. They'll be sleeping all through the night."

Normani chuckled before tracing the contours of Dinah's face. The brunette melted against the action as their foreheads met.

"How'd it go last night?" Dinah asked. "Was Halle nervous?"

"At first," Normani began, "very. But after going through the rundown, she was perfect. I don't know what she did to that man, but he demanded that she be treated 'like the queen of fucking England'."

"Those were his exact words?" Dinah chuckled.

Normani nodded.

"Circes are one of the most powerful creatures to ever exist," the ebony said. "Whatever she did to him, it really worked."

"Did you get the chance to talk to her today?"

"I couldn't, unfortunately. Things went haywire working one of Daemon's psychotic drops. Ty's been with her all day. What about Chloe? Were ya'll able to get her in the simulation chamber?"

"We were, but Halle wouldn't open her connection for some reason. After a while, we just took Chloe out. We're trying again tomorrow, though."

Normani was in deep thought as she continued to hold Dinah. Why would Halle not open her and her sister's connection? Was the system not strong enough to reach that far? Or did Halle see something that she was still trying to figure out on her own first?

"Hey..." Dinah uttered, bringing Normani out of her thoughts, "...don't overthink it. Everything's gonna be okay. We're just starting out."

Normani smiled before allowing Dinah to capture her lips. The contact absolutely melted the ebony as she deepened it with her tongue. Dinah let out a hushed moan as she felt Normani up, Normani welcoming the action before sitting up with Dinah now on her lap. The brunette suddenly began to giggle before breaking the lip lock.

"My stomach's too big for me to even do what I want..." she playfully pouted.

Normani smiled at her endearingly before prompting her to stand against the wall. She slowly stripped Dinah out of her sleep shorts, delighted to see that she wasn't wearing any underwear. The ebony was immediately met with the brunette's glistening pussy, looking up in auburn red eyes as she licked her lips.
