NORMANI

Normani stirred in her sleep at the sound of Kehlani's voice echoing in her head. Her eyes had fluttered open, the light from the full moon greeting her. She looked at the clock and saw that it was nearing midnight.

"We're ready to move, boss," she heard the tatted woman say. "The vehicles are all gassed up, and Halle's been prepped. We're just waiting on you."

"Good," the ebony replied before one of her eyebrows shot up. "Wait...did you just call me 'boss'? I thought that was you."

She smiled at the sound of Kehlani's chuckle.

"Any other time, you'd be right. But this is your mission. How we carry it out is your call. Besides...an alpha knows when it's time to submit."

Normani's smile grew at the comment before looking down at Dinah as she slumbered. She brought a loose hair out of the brunette's face before running her fingers down her body.

"I'll be leaving the house in a few minutes," the ebony said. "Make sure my outfit's ready. You know he likes to rent out clubs this time of night."

"Vic's got it laid out for you. We'll see you when you get here."

As soon as her and Kehlani's connection closed, Dinah stirred before looking up at Normani. The ebony could tell that Dinah was still out of it since her eyes weren't completely auburn. The little specs that were still there seemed to glow under the moonlight, causing Normani to fall into a trance just looking at her. She used her pinkie to trace Dinah's cheek bones until she bopped her nose. The action caused Dinah to blush before the two shared a kiss.

"Is it time to go?" Dinah asked groggily.

"It is," Normani answered.

"I wish I could come with you. It'll be weird sleeping alone tonight."

"Which is why you have me," Chloe said from the doorway.

The two women smiled at the ebony's entrance. Normani got out of the bed to let Chloe take her place. The young woman held Normani's hand before making another move and looked deep into her eyes. Normani marveled at Chloe's crystal-like eyes, but soon found worry laced in them.

"Please protect my sister..." the ebony uttered.

"With my life," Normani assured, smiling as Chloe kissed her cheek.

Normani crawled onto the bed until her body hovered over Dinah's. She leaned in to kiss her, Dinah stealing another one.

"Please be safe," the brunette said.

"I will," Normani replied. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

With one last kiss, Normani left the room and headed to her Camaro. Jordin and Bri were outside waiting for her.

"We'll escort your husband and daughter up here early tomorrow morning," Jordin said. "I'll be in the front, Bri will be in the back. We're far out from any of Daemon's territories, but the house's surveillance runs twenty-four-seven. We'll be able to see and hear anything out of place."

"Good," Normani nodded. "I won't be able to be here much once they're here. At least, not while they're awake."

"We took that into consideration," Bri said, "so we made a cerebrum synchronization system like we did for Chloe and Halle, for you and Dinah. Only difference is, neither of you will have to be in a chamber for it to work."
