DINAH

Dinah's entire body felt like it was under an immense amount of pressure. So much so, she could barely find the energy to move. Thank God Bri was a lot stronger than she looked. The Poly was able to carry Dinah back up to her room like it was nothing. Meanwhile, Jordin called both of the brunette's mothers after getting off the phone with Quincy. All of them were rushing up to the house as Chloe did her best to get the young vampire situated for a successful home birth.

"Chloe..." Dinah said breathlessly, panic setting in, "...why is this happening? He's not full term yet...ahhhh!"

"I know, honey," Chloe said, wiping off the beads of sweat forming on Dinah's forehead. "I wish I had the answers, but I've only ever delivered siren babies. The most I can tell you is to breathe deeply and don't push until it's time."

Dinah nodded as she held her stomach, doing just as Chloe said.

"We're okay..." she whispered to her child, "...we'll be okay...your grandmothers, mama, daddy, and your big sister are on their way here...we can do this..."

Just as she said that, she immediately felt Normani's presence. The ebony charged into the room, her ember eyes wide with worry as she immediately came to Dinah's aid.

"I came here as fast as I could," Normani said, holding Dinah's hand and kissing the back of it. "How long have you been in labor?"

"Only ten minutes," Dinah replied. "Mani, I'm scared. It's way too early for him to be born. He's not full term..."

"It's alright, gorgeous," Normani said, running her fingers through the brunette's hair. "Your moms are on their way, and I'm sure they have answers."

Dinah nodded before melting into Normani's embrace. She continued breathing deeply as Normani and Chloe held her hand. Soon after, both Eva and Leona came in the room, both of them carrying medical equipment. Dinah smiled at them before wincing at another birth pain.

"Hi, my love," Leona greeted before kissing the brunette on her forehead. "I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long. Traffic was horrendous."

"You're right on time, actually..." Dinah breathed, "...he's still in there...ma, do you know why my labor started this early?"

"Your son's a dhampir, baby," Eva said, setting up her monitors around the bed. "Dhampir babies have a very accelerated developmental stage. And judging by how much pain you're in, he's definitely ready to come out..."

"So, there's nothing wrong with him?" Dinah asked.

"No health issues?" Normani asked.

"None at all," Eva smiled. "You're about to have a healthy, baby boy."

Dinah and Normani smiled before the brunette let out another cry of pain. Normani put her hand to the Poly's stomach as she cried. Eva carefully discarded her daughter's shorts before going into full doctor mode.

"Dinah, baby...don't push yet. I know it hurts, and I know it feels like you need to, but if you push now, he could become breached."

"Keep breathing, honey," Leona encouraged.

"Okay..." Dinah whimpered, tears falling down her cheeks as her breathing only grew heavier.

Soon, her and Normani's eyes began to glow, signaling that Quincy and Adeya had arrived. Dinah looked at Normani almost pleadingly. She knew the ebony couldn't stay, but she didn't want her to leave, especially when their son was about to be born.
