NORMANI
Normani, Kehlani, and Solàna were back at HQ, trying to unwind after a strenuous day of running after Daemon's strays. They had changed their original plan for Victoria to join them while on their posts. As much as the ebony wanted to help, Daemon seeing her would breach the mission. So, they agreed to just have Melissa as an add-on. The woman proved very useful as she aided the trio on their missions outside of the estate. Upon their return to HQ, she received much praise for her help with getting things done. As they all lounged around, Amala entered the room.
"Hey," she greeted, sitting beside Solàna as the ebony welcomed her presence.
"Hey," Normani smiled. "What's up?"
"We just got a file sent to us from the lake house. Jordin didn't really say what it was, and the firewall on it prevents anyone from really finding out. We need you guys to come down to the dungeon and check it out."
The small team followed the woman down to the dungeon before entering the communications room. Aisha and Shay were seen assessing the file on the main monitor, everyone else crowding around them to see what was going on. Normani wormed her way to the front before addressing Aisha.
"When did this come in?"
"Half hour ago," the chief answered. "We know it's from Jordin based off the coordinates it originates from. We just need someone to break through the firewall."
"Làna," Normani called.
"Already on it," the big-haired woman said.
She typed away on the keyboard before the file suddenly opened, a video in freeze frame now shown on the screen. Normani's eyes lit up at the sight of Dinah in the ring. This must've been the first day of her training. She pressed the space bar, the video playing for everyone to see. She, along with everyone else, stood amazed at what they saw. Not only was Dinah successfully dodging almost every blow, but she was also observing her opponents' fighting styles and mimicking them perfectly. The ebony had never seen such a thing in all her life.
"No fucking way..." Megan said from behind Amala, "...Mani, do you know if D has photographic memory?"
"I'm not sure," the ebony replied. "That would be something Callie would know."
"She doesn't," the Latina responded. "I've been her physician since she was a little girl. She's never had that kind of ability, and it's impossible for it to suddenly develop in her adult years."
"Why'd you ask, babe?" Amala asked as she looked up at the tall woman.
"I'm really showin' my geek side," the ebony began, "but there's an MCU character that does this exact same thing - The Taskmaster. He had photographic memory as a kid, which is how he's able to mimic any fighting style he sees."
"Then," Victoria said, her and Kehlani watching the video, "how is it that she's doing it effortlessly?"
The camera feed panned over to the others outside the ring who were observing the match. One glance at Aiden, and Normani found the answer.
"The baby..." she said, "...some of his abilities must've attached themselves to Dinah while she was still pregnant."
She looked over at Callie to confirm, the Latina pulling up Dinah's ultrasound from her medical assessment. The image self-updated after every week of Dinah's pregnancy. Callie pulled up the image of the last week of the brunette's pregnancy before she gave birth. Upon assessing the image, her eyes grew wide at the very thing she was looking for.
