DINAH
It was very late in the night when Dinah, Normani, and everyone else returned to New Hope. As promised, her mothers cleaned up the place so well, it was like it hadn't been touched in days. Her and Normani wasted no time in bringing their family up to the master bedroom. They did a careful job of placing Quincy on his back against his massive king sized before bringing their children in their grasp. They decided to tuck them in for the night in Adeya's bedroom. Once they got there, Dinah could tell that Normani wasn't ready to let go of the six-year-old yet. So, she looked to her mother, silently asking her to bring her and Aiden out of hyper sleep. Normani looked at Dinah with worrisome eyes.
"You don't have to hide anymore," the brunette told her. "Daemon's gone..."
The ebony smiled before looking down to her daughter. The little one stirred in her sleep until her brown eyes began to flutter open. She looked up and froze in her spot. Normani's eyes immediately began to water at the wonderous gleam in Adeya's eyes, caressing her cheek as she chuckled.
"Hi Kit-Kat..." she uttered.
"Mama!" Adeya exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her mother's neck.
Normani let out a joyous laugh despite tears flowing from her eyes as she held Adeya close. This was the moment she'd been waiting for, for the past three years. It was such a relieving feeling to get to hold her daughter again. Dinah smiled at the sight just as Eva put a hand to Dinah's shoulder, relaying to her that they'd give them some privacy. The brunette nodded before bringing her attention back to the scene unfolding before her.
"I missed you, mama..." Adeya whimpered, her face snug in the crook of Normani's neck.
"I missed you too, baby," the ebony responded.
The little one looked up into Normani's eyes and observed them. The ebony could tell she was starting to put two and two together, and it only made her smile grow.
"Your eyes are the same color as Dinah's are sometimes," she pointed out.
"That's because Dinah helped mama do a lot of things to see you," Normani said.
"Were you on a trip? Did the doctors have to take you somewhere far away? Me and daddy thought you were gone..."
"Oh, baby, I know...but no. The doctors didn't take me anywhere. And even though I was gone, I never left..."
Normani looked to Dinah, the brunette smiling before taking her hand. The two women explained to Adeya everything that happened leading up to tonight – how Normani got turned after her accident, who she had to work for, how her and Dinah came up with a plan to reunite their family. Of course, some details were left out to spare the little one, but Adeya got the jist. And she was so fascinated by it all.
"So," she said, "you're a vampire like Dinah?"
"Mhmm," Normani smiled. "But she's a lot stronger than me."
Adeya giggled as she made her way onto their laps, letting Aiden grab her finger in his sleep.
"Does this mean we'll all be a family now?" she asked.
"That's what we're hoping for, princess," Dinah answered.
"But we can't make that decision until we talk to daddy," Normani continued.
"Where is daddy?"
Dinah and Normani's face fell a little. They knew Quincy would be okay. Especially since he was in the process of turning. But they didn't know how exactly to explain it to Adeya without scarring her.
