DINAH

Morning had finally dawned as the brunette woke up. She looked around to see everyone else still sleeping, including Normani, who was holding her from behind. She looked ahead of her and found Aiden wide awake, cooing and writhing happily against the sheets. Dinah giggled before bringing her finger into his tiny hand. The little one immediately looked her way and smiled, his copper eyes glowing bright.

"Good morning, handsome," the Poly whispered to him. "Early riser, I see. You definitely get that from your dad."

Aiden cooed back to her as she carefully sat up, taking him in her arms before looking in his bag. She swiftly made his morning bottle before sitting back on the bed and feeding him, watching him lovingly as he drank the formula. He held onto her finger the entire time he drank, looking up at her with shining eyes. She smiled down at him just as she felt a connection opening up.

"Morning, love," Leona greeted.

"Hi, mom," Dinah smiled. "Are you guys alright? How's the lake house?"

"Everything was taken care of. They took off on their motorcycles almost as soon as you and Normani left."

Dinah's face fell as she realized that the men that came to the house were the same men that followed them to the hideaway point. Her and Normani's secret escape didn't turn out as inconspicuous as they thought.

"Do you have any idea who they are?" Leona asked.

"We were trying to figure that out last night," Dinah answered. "Mani, Kehlani, and Solàna think they're with Daemon, though Daemon wouldn't really know anything since Halle's got him under her control. They had to have already been in the area for them to pop up not too long after Aiden was born."

"Poor child," Leona said, referring to her grandbaby. "He's only a little under a day old and people are already out to get him. Was he able to stay asleep most of the night?"

"He was. He's an early bird, though. He was up before I was."

The two women shared a laugh.

"You know," Leona continued, "he resembles your father a little bit. He has his eye color. He would be so proud of you..."

Dinah smiled endearingly as she finally saw remnants of her father in Aiden's eyes. She kissed his forehead gently as he continued to drink.

"Do you still think about him?" she asked her mother.

"Always," Leona answered. "He was the love of my life...my first love. It's because of him that I'm able to love your mother as much as I do."

"...I think he'd be proud of you, too..."

The brunette heard her mother chuckle.

"I agree. I won't hold you too much longer. I just wanted to make sure my baby girl was okay. Your mum and I will see you when you get back, yeah?"

"That shouldn't be too long from now. I love you."

"I love you, too."

Dinah and Leona's connection ended just as Aiden finished his breakfast. As Dinah sat him up and began to burp him, she felt Normani stir awake, a light moan sounding from her lips as she stretched. The two locked eyes and smiled at one another before the ebony encamped her arms around Dinah, looking down at the baby and smiling.

"Good morning, you two," she uttered.

Dinah melted into the kiss that was planted on her cheek before turning to give the ebony a kiss of her own.
