HALLE
Halle spent much of her time walking on eggshells around Daemon's parents. More specifically, his mother. Everywhere the ebony went, there that woman was, staring daggers into her like she was some kind of poisonous blow fish. Normani and Ty noticed it as well. Eventually, so did Kehlani and Solàna. Halle didn't feel comfortable being in a space with someone she knew nothing about – especially when that person was as dangerous as Charlize was. The young Circe called on Solàna to dig up dirt on the ice woman, and she did not like what she found. The woman was responsible for so many historic deaths in this country alone. She had to be one of, if not, the most dangerous vampire to ever walk this earth.
There were a couple close calls the ebony had with the woman. Ty was always there to deescalate the situation if it came down to it, but thankfully, Halle was able to calm herself before anything could really happen. He would take her to the small oasis out back so she could unwind, always making sure that she was protected. Normani took notice of these little incidents and kept them into account. She knew the woman well enough to know that she never stayed idle in her actions for too long. To keep Halle from getting hurt, she needed to make a move and fast.
The young Circe lounged around in bed as Daemon sat next to her, looking through the drops that his team went through for the month. Halle sat up and brought her head on his shoulder as she looked at him work.
"I don't think your mother likes me very much," she said teasingly.
Daemon chuckled in response.
"She rarely likes anyone," he said. "She's most likely just intimidated by you. She hasn't seen a siren in centuries. The last one she ran into almost ended her life."
"Really?" Halle asked, sitting up as intrigue consumed her body.
"Well, she wasn't really a siren, per se. She was a sun goddess. She had siren tendencies, though."
Halle's eyes widened as she realized exactly who the pure blood was referring to – her mother. She remembered the woman putting her and her sister to sleep with stories of how she battled one of the most dangerous vampires to ever exist. It happened years before their parents met. And from what she could understand, the fight was gruesome. It suddenly made sense why Charlize eyed Halle as much as she did. Her looks resembled that of her mother. She couldn't help but think that the more she was exposed to Charlize, the more the woman would start putting two and two together. She couldn't risk that happening. To try and get her mind off it, she continued her conversation.
"Your dad on the other hand," she smiled.
Daemon subtly rolled his eyes, causing Halle to laugh.
"Do you not like your dad?" she asked.
"If he spent less time flirting with women, I'd probably have a decent relationship with him," he answered.
Halle giggled before placing her hand on his forearm.
"Out of the two of them, he seems like the more easygoing one. Which I can appreciate. Would've loved to meet your brother. Apparently, he's been MIA for quite a while."
"Yeah...all cause of that bitch..."
Halle immediately knew who he was referring to – Victoria. It was no secret that Daemon had a strong hatred for her. But it ran so much deeper than what most people knew. She wanted to know why. She took a soft hold of his chin before the two locked eyes – icy gray meeting bright gold. Halle's eyes began to glow, Daemon getting lost in them.
