DINAH

Dinah laid next to Jordin on one of the nearby lounge chairs. They faced each other before erupting into cheesy smiles. It's been so long since they saw one another, let alone was this close to each other.

"How have you been?" Dinah asked first.

"I've been great," Jordin smiled. "Life in the mountains is everything I thought it would be and more. The store's doing great. And I made a few changes to the lake house. Hopefully you'll get a chance to come up and see..."

Dinah picked up on the slight shift in Jordin's tone as her crystal-clear eyes stared back into her auburn ones. The brunette smiled before bringing some of the girl's hair behind her ear.

"How are you?" Jordin asked. "I heard about what happened to Jackie. I'm so sorry you had to witness that."

"I'm hangin' in there," Dinah answered. "I'm still trying to process it all. And I'm gonna have to tell his wife what happened."

"You want me to come with you? Just to make it a little easier?"

"If you wouldn't mind. I was gonna ask some of the girls from the bar to come with me, but they're bringing all of his things together to bring to Joan."

"I got you."

The two smiled at each other before Jordin got a little closer to Dinah.

"There's something else I have to tell you," she said.

Jordin slowly brought Dinah in before kissing her. It only surprised the brunette a little, but she kissed back before the two broke it off. Their noses touched as Jordin formed a sheepish grin.

"I'm...a lesbian..." she uttered.

"I figured," Dinah giggled. "But I feel like there's more to it."

"Well...in my 'sexual awakening'," Jordin continued, "...I've realized that I had a thing for you...for a while now, actually."

Dinah smiled as she rubbed her nose against Jordin's.

"Your timing was never really all that great," she chuckled.

Jordin laughed.

"Tell me about it. I know you have a good thing going with your new boyfriend. And whatever's brewing between you and Normani seems to be going great. I wouldn't want to get in the way of that. I just wanted to tell you because, at the end of the day, you're my best friend. Best friends tell each other everything."

Dinah smiled as she brought Jordin in for another kiss – one that was more lingering. Jordin hesitantly put her hand on the brunette's hip before deepening the kiss with her tongue. Dinah brought the girl in more before their kiss ended with a pop.

"I'm glad you told me," Dinah smiled, "even though I already kinda knew."

Jordin giggled before kissing Dinah again, bringing one of her legs in between the brunette's.

"How long have you thought about telling me?" Dinah asked, caressing her friend's body.

"A lot," Jordin smiled. "More than I probably should have. Especially when, in my mind, telling you goes well, and we end up just sleeping with each other."

"I'm not gonna lie," Dinah chuckled. "That thought's crossed my mind a few times in the past. Especially that night we got drunk and danced to Bruno Mars in our living room."

The two giggled.

"I remember that night," Jordin smiled. "I'm so glad it was the weekend, because I also remember our hangovers being absolute hell."
