Chan walked into the office he worked at, quickly running to Felix's cubicle to hand him the printer paper he asked for.
Felix thanked Chan, eyes never leaving his computer screen. He watched closely as Felix pushed up the frames of his round glasses, squinting cutely at the tiny font on the screen.
Both of the boys worked together as legal secretaries at a law firm ran by Chan's close friend, Lee Minho.Felix sighed loudly, pushing his hair back with his hand. "I have so many documents that need to get sorted out before the end of tonight. One of Changbin's clients has a hearing tomorrow."
"Are you gonna stay late?" Chan questioned, noticing one of the buttons on the younger man's shirt had come undone. Chan swallowed hard, trying to keep his eyes away from Felix's exposed collarbones.
"As much as I don't want to I may have to." Felix groaned, getting up from his seat to retrieve a huge stack of case files that needed to be organized.
Chan watched as Felix flipped through the thick folders, pulling out the biggest one in the whole stack. He locked eyes with Felix, raising an eyebrow questioningly.
"This man raped and killed 12 little boys, and murdered his wife and kids once she found out." Felix said in disgust.
"Fucking homos. They're all sick." Chan felt his heart pang at Felix's comment. He never understood why he hated gay people so much. Throughout the last 15 years he has known the boy, he for some unknown reason despised homosexuals with a passion.
"Just because one gay guy happened to commit a crime like that, doesn't mean that all gay guys will follow suit." Chan shot back.
"Not this again. Always defending the homos." Felix sighed, opening up the case file and reading over it thoroughly. "You've got some work to do, Christopher. Better get to it before Minho yells at you." The younger boy said in attempts to intentionally antagonize his best friend.
Chan wanted to say something in retaliation, but stopped himself knowing that work was not the time or place. He sighed, walking to his cubicle to go over appointments that needed scheduling.
The older man shot Felix occasional glances here and there, trying not to get too lost in those dreamy eyes that shined brightly from the computer screen.
Chan wished he knew why Felix was such a homophobic asshole at times. Whenever he would ask the blonde why he felt that way, he would shrug his shoulders in a desperate attempt to avoid answering.
Chan remembered when he finally got the courage to come out to his best friend at the end of their first semester of college.
"F-Felix..." The older boy called out nervously one day. The blonde raised a brow at him questioningly, putting down the kitchen knife that he was using to cut veggies with. Chan was hesitant at first, noticing how sharp the knife was.
Is it really a good idea to tell your homophobic best friend that you're gay when he's got a knife that big next to him?!
Chan knew deep down Felix would never do such a thing, but the small possibility still terrified him.
The smaller man muttered a small "yes" before walking to the cabinet to grab some seasoning for the dinner he was cooking for himself and Chan that night.
"I want to tell you something important. I don't think I can keep lying to you anymore..." He fumbled nervously at his fingers, looking up to see Felix giving him his full attention.
"And what would that be?" Felix's deep voice boomed, intimidating Chan to the point of no return. He took in a deep breath, getting ready for all the negative possibilities that could come his way.
"I-I'm... Gay." His voice was barely above a whisper. Felix almost missed the older boy's confession completely. He looked at the blonde, expecting to get murdered right on the spot. He shook in fear, watching Felix's face contort in many different ways.
Felix began bursting into a huge fit of laughter, leaning onto the counter for support. Chan looked up at him confused. Why was he laughing?
"You're not gay, Chan. You've just been hanging out with Minho too much." He patted the older boy's shoulder lightly, going back to cutting up veggies for dinner.
"B-but, Felix! I am gay. I've been like this ever since I can remember. I never really liked girls growing up. I always liked boy-." Felix cut him off, slamming his knife harshly down onto the countertop.
"Being gay is a disease, a disease that you unfortunately caught from being around Minho and his disgusting twink of a boyfriend-."
"You mean Han Jisung." Chan quickly butt in.
"Disgusting. Twink." Felix sternly corrected before finishing his statement, "Maybe if you take a week off from school and laid in bed for a while, you'll be cured." The blonde smiled innocently.
Chan swallowed down the feeling of anger that was so desperate to come out and rear it's ugly head. He couldn't believe how ignorant his best friend was. Chan stomped his foot lightly in disbelief. Maybe Felix's reaction was for the best, seeing as though Felix didn't end their friendship right then and there.
The older boy faked a smile, painfully forcing out the next words that fell from his plush lips, "You're right... Maybe I should call off from school for a while to 'feel better.'"
"I'll even take care of you!" Felix smiled brightly. Chan crumbled completely. Seeing that cute smile on Felix's face was more than enough to remind him on why he continued being friends with such a hateful person in the first place. Felix was just too fucking cute.
Chan sighed loudly at the memory, typing away on his computer quickly. Not only was he gay, but he was secretly in love with his best friend, the town's biggest homophobe.
