"Look at this, Lix." Chan said, showing the blonde a pretty Christmas snow globe. Both men were currently out buying new Christmas decorations for their house. The blonde smiled, growing excited at the sight of the pretty blue globe with a snowman in it.
Chan felt his heart flutter at the sight of Felix smiling. It's been a couple days since they had talked and things were slowly getting better each day. Felix was returning to his usual self. He was still bitter, but those moments began to grow less frequent.
Chan wanted to take Felix out to buy more stuff for their apartment. Christmas was Felix's favorite holiday, so he was lowkey very excited to buy more stuff for the house and decorate.
"Ooo! Look at this!" Felix happily said, making his way to more Christmas decorations. He smiled happily while looking at all the isles, smile fading when he heard loud giggling coming closer and closer.
His eyes locked on two men who were clearly a couple, holding hands and giggling to one another. Chan's eyes locked onto Felix immediately, expecting all hell to break lose. The blonde froze, growing noticeably more uncomfortable while he watched the two men look at the ornaments.
Chan could tell Felix's first reaction was to say something hateful under his breath and walk away, but he just nibbled on his lips, continuing on with browsing the isle. They bought a bunch of Christmas decorations before going back to their apartment.
The older man expected Felix to rant about the two men, yet he was surprised when Felix didn't say anything. Felix talked to Chan about work instead on their way home, not once mentioning the couple. Normally Felix would have a fit, screaming about how gross they were and how they should keep their homo activities to themselves. Chan was happy, noticing the improvement already. He noticed that when Felix came out he was much easier to talk to again.
Both men spent the rest of the day working on the house, putting up their tree and getting ready for the holidays. At the end of the day, Felix cooked them dinner.
"I missed you cooking, Lix." Chan said, grabbing a plate and sitting at the table. Felix blushed, handing him a fork and napkin. "Well you better like it. I worked hard on this." He said, handing Chan a cup and pouring him some juice. The blonde grabbed everything he needed, sitting in front of the brunette who was waiting for him to eat.
Chan took the first bite, melting at the taste of Felix's cooking. "Fuck this is good." Chan moaned, taking a second bite. "I cook like a five star fucking chef so of course it's good." Felix laughed, taking a few bites. "B-but I'm glad you like it." The blonde blushed.
Chan only smiled at him. "So you're coming back to work tomorrow?" He asked the blonde.
"Yes, I'll be back to work tomorrow." He responded.
"Good, I am glad. I kinda missed you bossing me around." Chan giggled, scarfing down more of his food.
"Well I'm not looking forward to it entirely." Felix mumbled, irritation heavy in his tone.
"Why not?" The older man question, admiring Felix while he talked. He looked so cute right now.
"Well that fag- uh C-Changbin is still hitting on me." Felix said, catching himself before he slipped. He knew Felix wanted to say it, but Chan had voiced his hatred for that word too many times to count, and Felix was trying to be better.
"Did you do what I told you to do?" Chan asked, feeling jealousy settle in the pit of his stomach.
"I-I don't know how to do that. I've never rejected somebody before and nobody has ever liked me like that either." The blonde said in response.
"Well just try to put it nicely. I know that may be a bit difficult for you, but that's the only way he will back off." The older man smirked, taking their plates and washing them once they finished eating.
"Oh, shut up." Felix said, following Chan to the sink, watching the brunette clean up.
"I feel like me ignoring him should've been enough for him to get the hint. Why are homos so persistent?" He asked, causing Chan to stop washing the dishes and raise a brow at him. "You already know what I'm gonna say to that." The brunette spoke, putting the dishes in the drain board.
Felix rolled his eyes, grabbing a towel to dry off the plates and silverware. "I mean, do you like him?" The older man asked. Felix couldn't help the look of disgust that decorated his features. "Of course not!" He quickly said, putting the dishes away after they dried.
"I barely know him and that's gay!" Felix said. "And besides... I like somebody else at the moment." He blushed, eyes locking with Chan's.
The older man couldn't help but notice the hesitation when he said that. Felix came out but he was obviously still iffy about the whole thing. It was clear given he still couldn't help himself with the name calling and rude stares, but much progress has been made already.
"Really?" Chan smirked, though deep down he felt a sense of anxiety. He wasn't sure if he was the one Felix liked or not. He couldn't help but feel crushed at the idea of somebody else having Felix's heart.
The older man was shocked Felix would even say such a thing. He had a hard time coming out, so him admitting so easily that he liked somebody who was obviously a man was surprising. Given he's still somewhat homophobic of course.
"N-no! I was just kidding!" Felix said, growing shy when Chan's smile only grew bigger.
"Yeah and I'm not gay." Chan joked, watching Felix internally panic. It was a cute type of panic. Felix didn't look genuinely fearful, which was a good sign.
"Do I know him?" Chan asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"S-stop talking!" Felix blushed, a deeper red than before on his cheeks.
"Ah, well whoever he is he is lucky." Chan smiled, causing Felix to feel giddy. It was obvious Felix liked Chan, but he wasn't ready to admit that yet. The blonde couldn't help the smile on his face.
"You're a queer." Felix unwillingly smiled, scurrying into his room before he gave himself away. "Vise versa!" Chan called back.
"We have a movie to watch!" Chan called out. "Not anymore!" Felix jokingly said. The brunette smiled. Even if he wasn't the one Felix had feelings for, the blonde's happiness was all he wanted. If he was happy, Chan was happy.
