"So what's been going on with you these days?" Minho asked Chan, signaling the bartender over.
"So much." Chan sighed, running a hand through his thick brown hair. He watched as the bartender came over, taking their orders and returning shortly with their drinks.
"Well I'm not sure if you are aware, but Changbin has seemingly taken a romantic interest in Felix as of recently."
"Ooo that's rough. Are you okay?" Minho questioned, taking a sip of his drink while listening closely.
"I mean it sucks knowing Changbin likes him, but I know that he's never gonna have a chance with him. Nobody probably ever will." The older man sighed, gulping down a shot of whiskey like it was nothing. Minho nodded understandingly, rubbing circles on Chan's back to help calm his nerves.
"How did Felix react to all this? I'm sure he wasn't too thrilled about the whole thing." He questioned, aware of Felix's homophobic tendencies. Aside from Chan, Minho was the only person aware of Felix's hatred towards gay people.
"That's what's been the problem lately. He's been using those pathetic slurs a lot more frequently ever since it happened, and has become paranoid about the whole thing. When I tell you this man freaked out because Changbin simply glanced at his lips while they were talking, I'm not even kidding." Minho laughed, sipping more of his drink. "Really?" The younger male asked, baffled by the fact that people like Felix actually still existed in this day and age.
"Yes, really. He even threatened to report Changbin to you in hopes of getting him fired." Chan sighed, thanking the bartender for placing down his second shot of the night. Minho laughed loudly, truly amused by Felix.
"If anything he should be fired. I never wanted to hire him in the first place. He's only there because of you." Minho said, rolling his eyes in annoyance. "He works well don't get me wrong, but he's so ignorant it kills me. I don't understand how you managed to deal with him for this long."
"Love makes you do stupid shit sometimes I guess." Chan shrugged.
"Anything else I should know?" Minho questioned.
"He's also been getting extremely touchy as of recent. It's a habit he always had when we were kids, but once his parents divorced it stopped. It makes me feel weird and I don't understand why he's doing it again all of the sudden." The brunette complained, gulping down a third shot.
Minho was aware of Felix's hatred towards gay people, but he wasn't sure why that hatred existed in the first place. He knew Chan didn't know why either, since Felix refused to tell a soul as to why he was the way he was. Minho was also aware of Chan's feelings towards Felix. He knew that Chan had been in love with him for years, and did such a good job at hiding it you wouldn't even guess.
"That's a bit odd." Minho said, raising a brow.
"I know. I don't know how much more of the it I can take." The older man sighed.
"Have you ever tried to figure out why Felix is the way he is?" Minho asked, trying to tie all the pieces into place. "Believe me. I have tried, but nothing really makes sense." He responded, groaning loudly and laying his head on the table.
"Tell me a little bit more about him." Minho said, catching Chan off guard. "What do you want to know?" He questioned, sipping down his 5th shot, beginning to feel the buzz kick in.
"Has he ever had a girlfriend?" Minho asked.
"No, I don't think so. Unless he's kept it hidden from me which I don't think he has since we are always together." Minho raised a brow at Chan's response, finding it rather interesting that Felix never dated anybody before, especially a girl when he claims to be straight.
"Why do you think he's never dated anybody before?"
"I don't know. Maybe he's asexual instead of straight and is ashamed of telling people? Maybe he just hasn't found the right person yet? Ugh, I don't know." Chan shrugged, causing Minho to sigh in response. He was almost certain as to why Felix was the way he was, but he needed to do some extra digging before confirming his suspicions.
"Or... Maybe he's gay?" Minho asked, watching as Chan nearly fell off the barstool. "There's no way he's gay." Chan quickly said. Minho rolled his eyes. As much as he loved Chan, he could be quite the airhead sometimes.
"Listen to me Chan. You and I know better than anybody what is real and what is fake. Felix has claimed to be straight for years, and though I have only spoken to him like once, I knew immediately he wasn't." Minho deadpanned.
"Nobody who is straight hates gay people that much unless they themselves are gay for one. For two, he literally is so lowkey flamboyant it's not even funny. I mean come on Chan. He wears makeup to work at least twice a week. The way he presents himself is so feminine too. How have you not already thought about this?" He asked.
"Believe me I have, but I didn't want to assume anything. Felix hates everybody, straight, gay, boy, or girl, so I never thought much of it." The older man said.
"Sure he hates everybody, but he obviously hates gay people the most for reasons that should be obvious." Minho convinced. Chan knew he was more than likely right about the assumption. He never really considered it a possibility, because Felix did such a good job at convincing him that he was straight years ago.
"Do you really think he might be gay?" He questioned.
"I am almost certain. I figured out a lot tonight just from this conversation, and what you're telling me about him correlates exactly with my uncle who was in the closet for years. He was homophobic towards gay people for the longest before finally divorcing his wife and coming out shortly after."
"I guess that kind of explains everything now." Chan said, surprisingly not surprised in the slightest about the conclusion both of them came to. "You also mentioned he was getting super touchy with you as recently. Ask him about it." Minho smirked. "I'm sure it'll make him shit his pants in fear." He giggled, sipping down his second cup of gin.
The rest of the night they spent their time laughing and joking with one another, but Chan couldn't get the thought of Felix being gay out of his head. Minho has made some very valid points on the matter and Chan knew that. Now Chan needed to figure out where to go from here.
