Christmas with Felix's family was a success, going much better than both men anticipated. They were both back to work now, a new year to start off their first day back.
Felix highlighted his case files while Chan dreamily stared at him, head resting in his palm while he smiled lovingly at his boyfriend. The blonde felt Chan's eyes baring deep into his soul, highlighting growing sloppy.
"Can you stop looking at me like some lovesick puppy?!" Felix whisper shouted, taking his highlighter and drawing a big line on Chan's hand. The older man only giggled, shaking his head no.
"You're just so pretty, Lix." Chan cooed, causing the freckled cheeks of the blonde to flush a red color. He scoffed, turning his attention back onto the file he was working on. They both giggled after a few seconds of silence, sparing each other glances every minute or so.
Chan typed away on his computer, scheduling a client that needed to see Seungmin for a hearing next week. The busy office was filled with chatter and sounds of keyboards typing, the calm environment bringing him a sense of comfort.
"Felix?" A familiar voice asked, catching the attention of both males. The voice belonged to none other than Changbin, a person Chan assumed Felix had gotten rid of by now.
"Y-yes?" Felix asked, growing nervous the second his eyes dance between both men. Chan looked displeased, jealousy evident in his features. Changbin looked hopeful and happy, completely oblivious to the tenseness that immediately filled the air.
"I've sent you texts, but I don't think they're going through." Changbin spoke, sparing Chan a glance before sending him a polite nod. Chan only nodded back, eyes darting up and down the lawyer who stood by Felix's cubicle.
"I-is that so?" Felix swallowed hard. Changbin was rarely ever on this floor, and he never spoke to Felix except once every blue moon. Why was he doing it now?
"I-I don't think I've received any of your messages. I am sorry." Felix spoke, glad Changbin owned an Android. That fact would make the lie seem much believable. While Changbin was oblivious, Chan knew it was a lie.
"Oh well that's a bummer." Changbin pouted before putting on a big smile. "I was going to ask if you'd like to go out on a date with me sometime?" The lawyer broke the ice. Chan felt his heart pang at the question, becoming very unsettled.
There was an awkward silence, one that made them all uncomfortable. It seemed unbearable almost, like it was suffocating them all. "I know it may be extremely unprofessional of me to ask this, but I've always found you to be such a beautiful person that I would love to get to know." Changbin softly spoke, his charming demeanor knocking Chan right in the face.
"Um, actually-"
"I-I can't! I am sorry..." Felix quickly cut Chan's words short, sparing him a nervous glare before locking eyes with Changbin.
"Oh..." Changbin frowned, disappointed at the response.
"Y-you're a nice guy, but I-" Felix nervously bit his lips, eyes darting to Chan. The older man looked super irritated, jealousy rearing it's ugly head which was becoming too difficult to hide.
"I- Chan and I are- dating..." Felix forced out, taking both men by surprise. Changbin's eyes locked with Chan, bowing down while apologizing profusely.
"I am so sorry. I didn't know." Changbin apologized, earning a happy smile from Chan. Felix's words made Chan's jealousy disappear temporarily. The jealousy was quickly replaced with happiness.
"It's totally okay. Mistakes happen." The older man shrugged, smiling like a mad man. Felix had so effortlessly told somebody that he was dating him. He couldn't control the giddiness in his heart, super happy with Felix's response.
"Have a good rest of your day." Changbin smiled, disappearing into the elevator. Felix let out a happy sigh, smiling softly at his boyfriend. "Thank God that's finally over." Felix spoke, happy that Changbin would not longer hit on him from this point further.
"You're lucky there's people here because if there weren't, I'd fuck you over this desk just like I did that one night." Chan growled, making Felix blush heavily. "C-Chan..." The blonde nervously bit his lip.
"I thought you would've taken care of that Changbin situation sooner." Chan pointed out, making the blonde nervous once more. "I was jealous, but what you did just now makes up for it." Chan spoke once more.
"I am sorry." Felix looked down, biting the skin off his chapped lips.
"I was planning on blocking him, but I never got around to doing it." The blonde frowned.
"Did he try messaging you at all after we got together?" Chan asked, feeling his jealousy suddenly grow at the question.
"Only once or twice." Felix responded, growing anxious.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Chan asked, irritation laced heavy in his tone.
"I- am unsure..." The blonde's voice cracked, fearful he did something wrong.
"D-don't get me wrong! I obviously didn't respond and I don't enjoy his advances if that's what you're thinking!" Felix said, raising his hands in defense. Chan only raised a brow, remaining quiet while Felix defended himself.
"W-we were so busy with my family, which was when he messaged me. I didn't want to worry about it, so I didn't respond and had forgotten about the message." Felix explained, tears threatening to fall. He didn't want to mess up with Chan. He was afraid that he maybe fucked something up.
"Why are you crying?" Chan frowned, putting a hand on Felix's back and rubbing it in circular motions.
"I feel like I did something wrong..." Felix whimpered, hiding his face with his hands.
"You didn't, Lix." Chan smiled, glad that their cubicles were in a secluded area.
"B-but you seemed upset." Felix cried.
"Lix, It's okay." Chan softly spoke, taking the blonde's small face into his hands. "Look at me." He said, locking eyes with his crying boyfriend. "You didn't do anything wrong. I love you." Chan softly kissed his lips, sparing a sweet smile that Felix returned.
"I love you so much. I-I don't want to fuck things up." Felix admitted, wiping off the tears on his cheeks.
"You won't. I promise it's okay." Chan smiled, thankful Felix cared so much.
