Lily's p.o.v.

I ran down the stairs with my backpack flying behind me.

Shit.shit.shit.shit

Kristine wasn't here to wake me up so I'm late.

I was about to fly out the door when I heard my name.

I briefly paused still running on the spot, adrenaline present in my blood.

"No school today sweaty, the air conditioners are being serviced."

So what I'm hearing is I'm rushing for nothing?

I didn't say anything and began walking back up the stairs.

"Lily why don't you come have breakfast with me?"

"No thanks." I answered my mom and continued going up the stairs.

I heard her sigh but brushed it off.

The one day I want to go to school and it's cancelled.

I took out my phone and began scrolling through tiktok, making sure to save the funny videos.

Without warning, my door flew open and my dad walked in.

Well it's not like I expected him to knock.

To be honest, I didn't expect him at all.

I quickly dropped my phone and watched him take a seat on my scattered  bed.

He began looking around my scattered room and I could see the disapproval in his eyes.

That hurt for some reason.

"Lily could you please speak to your mother."

Although I was relieved that he didn't comment on the state of my room, I was rather irritated that we were talking about her.

"Why? She didn't talk to me about all of this." I answered in irritation.

"But she's still your mother, you have to forgive her."

I didn't say anything.

"I've forgiven her."

I looked at him in shock but he was just staring into space...smiling.

"And if I can forgive her, so can you. Please Lily. I know we don't have the strongest bond but could you do this for me?"

I nodded wordlessly and when he smiled at me, my heart exploded.

"Thankyou." He said softly, he almost whispered it actually.

He got up my bed and began leaving the room.

But before shutting the door completely he said, " and please clean your room."

Yeah.

I was in the middle of picking up my clothes when my phone beeped.

I quickly dropped them back on the floor and picked up my phone.

I smiled at the text and opened my door to leave.

Nobody was out of their rooms so I left the house without much of a hassle.

As I walked to the beach, I couldn't ignore the bubbly feeljng I had in my chest.

I was finally out of the house.
