CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT: THE INVITATION

"So a... CREED invitation?" I said after ko binasa 'yung invitation that me and Quinten received kahapon sa opisina kanina lang bago kami umuwi.

Quinten called me in 4-5 am in the morning for this, thank god I slept early today kung hindi baka kanina ko pa nasuntok 'tong si Quinten dahil sa sobrang aga niya akong tinawag.

Inuulit 'kong basa 'tong letter, it's an invitation for the CREED members. It's also hosted by Dixons if I'm not wrong.

Honestly 'di ko inaakalang mag-hohost nang party ang mga Dixons.

Dixons are pretty mysterious as a family, and there's more.

"This invitation looks suspicious," I said.

The invitation just looks so different. Especially kung sino 'yung sender.

They even added the 'Norvina's' part sa letter. So now I'm thinking na Norvina might've been the one who sent this letter to us.

"They're just being extra nice to us, especially that we're also related to them in some way." Quinten sits on the sofa at ininom ang baso ng rum niya.

I sighed and placed the invitation back on top of the table. I guess we have no choice but to come to this celebration or whatever this is.

Dixons are related to Diamantes.

Just like how some companies have their subsidiaries, Diamantes have Dixons.

Dixons are a little bit complicated because they have their own business that's way different from Diamantes.

I don't even understand them.

"Still, you can't trust someone who's extra nice, Quinten. 'Di nga na'tin alam kung sino ang head ng pamilyang 'yan. They're related to us but don't tell us anything." I sighed again and kinuha ang susi ng kotse ko and a handbag ko.

Tumango na lang si Quinten and binasa ulet ang invitation. We've seen some of their family members but we've never talked to them personally.

"Well, I guess it's time to know who they're head is... right? We're going."

I roll my eyes sa sinabi ni Quinten. I don't really want to go but now we have to.

Ni hindi nga na'min alam kung anong mangyayari doon eh! They didn't even say what kind of celebration? Quinten must be crazy.

Kinuha ko ang iniinom niyang alak dahilan para mapatitig siya sa'kin. Tinitigan ko siya nang mariin.

He shouldn't be drinking kung pupunta siyang trabaho today, and this is why I need to punch him.

"Stop drinking early in the morning, you're going to drive later too." Saway ko sa kanya as I tied my hair in a ponytail at tiningnan siya ulet.

"Fine! Fine! I was just tired, and in need of energy."

He lied for sure.

Anong energy?

He's just having a hard time with his soon-to-be wife, I'm pretty sure it's him who's the problem once again.

I'll bet a hundred dollars because he was jealous of some man.

"I'll go, I'll try to look at some contracts and future profits doon para mabawasan naman ang trabaho." I waved at him at nagsimula na akong umalis papunta sa kumpanya.
