CHAPTER FIFTY ONE: FITTING
"This is my way of telling you 'I'm sorry,' so please let me, okay?"
Napasinghap na lang ako sa sinabi niya and cross my arms against my chest.
Ang daming dumadaan na tanong sa loob ng utak ko, first, bakit siya nandito?
Second, sinong nagpapasok sa kanya sa entrance?
And third, I have to talk to Quinten about this.
Pumasok si Ares sa loob ng opisina ko without any hesitations, I was gonna call my assistant but Ares stopped me, pero sinubukan ko pa 'ring tawagan ang assistant ko, only to tell me na she was told na meron daw kaming importante meeting dalawa ni Ares.
I already tried so hard to avoid him for a few days, even calling me by my telephone number here dito sa opisina ko.
But I refused to talk to him, I just need some space away from this man.
After what he had pulled too. It's very unprofessional too, pero at the same time, there is something wrong with me.
It's just a feeling I haven't really experienced before. This jealous side of him is way different from before.
But that's not important right now.
"How did you know?" I asked him.
"Hm? You mean... your schedule for today?"
Inilabas din niya ang inosente niyang ngiti sa'kin after niya binalik sa'kin ang tanong.
Yes, his smile is adorable but it's not a good distraction for me, it's not working either.
Today, I'm supposed to have a dress fitting with some famous shop that Quinten recommended me to, of course, I trusted him.
I called for an appointment for today, kailangan ko talaga nang damit para sa upcoming CREED party that the Dixon family is going to host.
But, how did this man learn about this? Who told him about this?
"That... I learned from your assistant. Tinanong ko siya 'kung busy ka nanaman ba today or if there's any way to earn a spot for your today's schedule and she mentioned your appointment to this shop, so... I thought na pwede kitang samahan," he answered.
It looks like I'll have to start scolding my assistant, and I'm gonna have to scold this man right here, in front of me.
"Do you really have to?"
"Yes, so that I could help you and so that you could forgive me too," he answered back with a softer smile this time.
"I already did,"
"Yeah, over a text?" he pauses, replaced with a small chuckle as he leans towards me with the table in between us.
"I'm not that kind of person, I want to be forgiven in a way... and that is by helping you, Ms. Diamante. You don't mind, do you?"
His tone lowered from his sudden question which left a chill under my skin, but I still maintained a straight yet cold face.
It's an expression I was known for back in high school.
Bumaba ang titig niya mula sa mga mata ko and to my lips, that's when I felt my heartbeat quickened with just his eyes on my lips.
