CHAPTER FIFTY TWO: FOR NOW

"Ms. Diamante?"

I took a deep breath and tinitigaan nang maraan ang assistant 'kong kanina pa ako tinatanong since pumasok ako today, and as always, she's holding both of her hands together in concern daw, sabi niya.

"What? This better be a good question,"

I told her angrily, and due to my frustration sa masamang pakiramdam ko. I don't honestly know what's wrong with me, basta masama lang talaga ang pakiramdam ko.

I woke up this morning feeling a little bit dizzy and I couldn't stand up properly too.

I think I'm just not in the mood, but this... something else.

"Are you sure you're okay?" she asks in a teeny-tiny annoying voice.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance this time before slamming my own fist on top of my table tsaka siya tiningnan ulet.

"I told you, I am okay. Now, if you don't have any questions, I suggest you return to your own place and desk, come back in 'kung may i-rereport ka or kapag tinawagan kita, okay?" I asked her, trying not to raise my voice.

Nag-iba ang expression niya sa sinabi ko and apologized one more time before leaving me inside my office.

I want to throw all of these documents that are full possible contracts, reports and important stuff inside. I can finish them and check them in a day, but how could I do that when I'm sick?

I have a runny nose and maiinit din ang noo ko.

And what's worse, is this body. I feel so weak. I mean, I've been sick before pero it didn't stop me from fighting anyone and doing the worse shit ever.

I'm still me, kaya bakit... bakit ngayon pa? Is it because I'm getting older? I'm only in my mid-twenties? This is ridiculous! I need to keep working.

I am almost done with this one report. Kailangan ko na lang tawagan ang mismong... ang mismong assistant ko.

I realize that I have actually finished almost half of the documents I was supposed to check. I decided to do the easiest job for now, which was to check all the contracts or other reports galing sa assistant ko at sa bagong assistant ni Quinten.

This is the light-work, heavy work is when it always makes me want to quit this company. But this isn't a company, it's an empire.

I yawned and took a deep breath, closing the document before placing it by the side of my office. Maybe, kailangan ko nang konting pahinga. I do deserve a bit of break dahil sa trabaho ko.

Tumayo ako at humiga sa sofa. I laid my back against it and slowly unties my hair to give myself a rest for a few minutes bago ulet ako magsimulang magtrabaho.

Just this time, just this moment.

I want to be given some time to breath and to rest.
