"Hoy Talia Amaya."
So ano nga? Duh.
"Wala akong plano magdebut."
"Huh? Bakit naman! E mahilig ka kaya sa gano'n! Kaya nga nagdebut ako last month kasi alam kong gusto mo umattend sa mga gano'n. Bakit ayaw mo?" She asked while I was busy fixing my notes in my bag.
"Sabagay. Pero... okay. Quiet na ako." She zipped her mouth and sat properly.
"Amaya! Happy birthday, princess. I'm sorry if Lolo didn't make it to your debut yesterday."
I stopped playing with my dolls when Lolo appeared beside me, holding a pink rose in front of me. Yesterday's my 7th birthday. Nagtatampo ako simula kahapon dahil buong araw ko siyang hinintay. He promised me he'll try na humabol.
"I'm really sorry, something came up at work. Babawi ako, hmm?"
"Let's go to the airport! I want to go to your work!" I suggested as a way of making up to me.
"Alright. I promise I'll attend your next debut." He said making me tilt my head a little, confused. "Your 18th birthday. I promise I'll be one of your 18 roses." He smiled and locked my pinky finger with his as a sign of promise.
"Lolo? Anong feeling umalis?" I curiously asked while we were watching the airplane leaving.
"You know, leaving really depends on your intention. Leaving sometimes makes you feel at ease. A fresh start. On the other hand, leaving makes you sad. Leaving someone doesn't really feel good especially to that someone being left. You know the second feeling, right? Your mom always leave." He chuckled a little. Yeah, I always pray that someday mommy won't need to leave anymore for work. Because it always hurts saying goodbye.
"Nandito si mommy mo kanina." Sabi ni mama pagkauwi ko.
"Bakit daw?" I asked and got a glass of water with me.
"Tinatanong niya 'yung about sa debut mo ata.
