The Missing Element

Chapter 35

"What happened..." I asked as I got out of the bathroom and saw Talia panicking. My gaze quickly landed on the coffee table with my... wet notes.

"Love... hindi ko sinasadya. I... was taking a nap with my head on the table and as I woke up, I forgot there was a coffee right beside my hand." She bit her lower lip and took a seat on the couch, far away from me. I can feel her stare while I was massaging my temple, looking at my notes. Nababasa pa naman kahit papaano, but I couldn't focus kung ganito itsura.

Well I guess I have to do all of it again.

Hours have passed. I cooked and prepared the table. Talia didn't eat. She's just at my room. I washed the plates and prepared some food to bring for her.

"Are you sleeping?" I knocked. No answer. I frowned upon seeing her sitting on the floor, hugging her legs, sobbing. I put down the plate on the side.

"Are... you okay?" I asked and kneeled my one knee so we could be in the same level.

"I should be the one asking you that." She looked away and wiped her tears. "I'm sorry, love." She wrapped her arms around my neck and cried.

"Shh, stop crying na." I said while I was caressing her hair.

"It's my fault. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." She sobbed. I felt my shirt being wet by her tears.

"It's okay, hmm?" I tucked her hair behind her ear while looking at her eyes flooded by tears.

"I love you..." She wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "I love you, I'm sorry." She closed her eyes as I kissed her forehead down to her nose.

"Don't worry about it, okay? I love you. Eat na." I ruffled her hair before helping her stand up.

I smiled when she hugged me tight as I was about to reach for her food. "Are you mad?" She asked.

"No, my love. You eat na." I kissed her forehead and left the room while she was eating. I need to study pa.

I was so sleepy and Talia said she'll go home na later. I couldn't wait so she told me to sleep and don't wait for her. I woke up around 10 am the next day. The whole condo was clean.

I stopped when I saw a clean copy of my notes on the table. I frowned and checked everything. Pinrint niya lahat? It looks exactly the same as mine. Even the guide words on the side. Complete lahat, pati 'yung color ng highlights. I went to the kitchen and was about to cook something when I saw a note on the countertop.

'I hope I did everything correctly. Tell me if I forgot something. I cooked breakfast for you na pala since I just finished doing your notes around 9 am. I love you <3'

God, what did I do to be deserving to have this kind of woman in my life?

"Terran!" Reign called. I was just about to look for Talia when Reign told me she'll be a little late. "Puyat 'yun! Sabi niya sa akin gumawa daw siya ng maraming notes e hindi naman masyado nagn-notes 'yon!" Reign said. I looked away when I realized it was my notes Talia told Reign about.

"Ah I see... happy birthday." I said and handed her my gift.

"Huh? 'Di ko birthday! Nagpalechon lang ako! Ang tagal na akong kinukulit ni Talia dahil sa sinabi ko noong highschool kami na magpapalechon ako kapag naging kayo in real life." Tumawa siya. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko. Nakakahiya, ang pagkakasabi niya kasi sa 'kin may celebration siya. I thought it's her birthday.
