"Nothing" Gina replied

"Then you won't mind us joining you?" I raised my eyebrow.

I walked closer to Nico and smiled "So... care to tell us what you guys were doing? smooching around maybe?" I laughed.

"No! Um, I mean No. We were just talking..." He trailed of

"'Bout what?" I pushed at it, I won't drop this one, nope.

"Nothing, school and all that..." He seemed helpless with words.

"Tell us something then" I challenged him. He smiled. Challenge accepted.

"I just came out of the army last year, went there to do some Work Expierence and ended up staying for half a year" He said cooly, oviously trying to impress me.

I gave him a 'that all?' look and said "So... why you stayign with your aunt? I mean, not being nosy or anything... you can tell me if you want!" I stumbled

"Like I said before, My parent's couldn't handle me..." He chuckled quietly to himself.

"Yeah, yeah! whatever!" I rolled my eyes "Tell me the real reason"

"My mom refused I was her son from the age of 8. My dad is an alcholic, I moved on." His eyes hid the pain, I could see the glass wall he'd built around his past, silently shattering. Not glass Nico, glass shatters too easily. Build your wall with something stronger, something like metal. I should know.

"What about you? Life couldn't be perfect where you're from otherwise you wouldn't be here" He challeneged me.

"Lithuania. No, life was hard. Because everyday of my so-called 'life' I had to work for my food, worry about where I'll be in the next two minutes and be afraid if anyone so much as goes near me" I said. Too much. I said a bit too much. But judging from the look on his face, he understood. We clicked.

"Oh, so you don't have a crush on him anymore?" Gina interrupted us, obviously feeling left out.

Damn! Shit... shit... shit! What do I say?!

"Uh, no? I.. I mean" Nico raised an eyebrow

"I,uh, No, I don't. I think Jacian might ask me out, or maybe Trey, I mean, I used to have a crush on Jacian and then I saw you, then I met Trey and I don't like you anymore... I think, then I think I fancy Jacian" I stuttered, lie after lie, chocking me.

I screwed up badly. Crap! Time to divert the conversation.

"Can I, uh, talk to you?" I asked Nico.

Gina wasn't pleased, she was ready to protest when I said to Kate "Ask Gina,you know... uh..." I whispered in Kate's ear to ask Gina if she loves him and keep her talking.

I then walked down the path and waved for Nico to follow me. He did. Smirking.

He was sitting on his bike by now and was kind of walking, but riding it along at the same time, I stopped him when we were in partial view and looked into his eyes.

"Can I ask you something?" I said gently

"Sure" He breathed. His breath close to my face, making it tingle with excitement.

"You know when you met me? What were the first three things you liked about me?" I winged.

"Uh, what's this for?" He asked, eyes intently staring into mine.

"Just, uh, so if I go for Jacian or Trey, I'll know my best features, from a boys perspective" Damn Im such a good liar!

His eyes dropped for a moment, looking almost dissapointed he bagan "Well, your accent, it's pretty brummy" He grinned.

"No! Never!" I fake gasped "Is that a bad thing?" I asked, suddenly afraid that it was.

"Nope, it's cute" He replied then carried on "Your hair. It's so long." He breathed, his voice low and sexy.

"And?" I asked, totally in a trance, not caring who's around or who can see

"The fact that you're carin, funny and kind girl" I breathed. edging nearer to me...

"I'm done!" Kate yelled as we sprang apart.

Fuck!

"Ok! Be down there in a min!" I yelled back, frustrated.

"Friends?" He asked, holding out his hand. I shook it "Friends." I smiled.

"Hug?" He lowered his voice "Sure" I leaned in and so did he.

His strong, warm arms wrapped around me, from front to back, his handholding me, supporting me as my knees went weak. I hugged him back. My arms around his neck and head on his shoulder.

Perfect moment.

I realised that Gina was staring at me and yelled "Hey Gina! I'm hugging your boyfriend!"

Now I realise I shouldn't have done that as we sprang apart once again. Him embarassed for being caught, me embarassed for totally other reasons.

I grabbed Kate's hand and we walked away and left them two alone. Nico staring after me  as I went. I probably shouldn't have done that! Urgh! Stupid me! But we HUGGED! This does mean something!
