The following morning, in school, I was buzzing with excitement! All I wanted to do was tell all of my friends and go hyper and write a song, so when I walked in and burst out loud 'HEEEY!' like I did every single day of year 9-it's a new thing I started, totally random but hilarious- and hugged each and one of my girl's in turn.
"Omg!" I squeled, unable to hold in my excitement "Guess what?!?"
"What?" They replied in unison, untill Kendall got the hint and asked "How was your daattee?" She sang almost.
"It was AMAZING! He is amazing!!" I laughed, and started jumping around
"Details" Mya said, and immediately I began to blabber on about our date and what a gentleman Nico was.
At the time, I didn't notice the looks that were thrown at each other by Mya and Maddison. I guess I was just way too excited to realise... But lets just say that they were concerned for me, I mean I understood and still understand that; as Nico is 16 and all, but it made me feel terrible. The thoughts and assumptions of me being a slag came back, stronger than ever and I found myself thinking, that maybe I was a slag? I don't know, I mean everyone says love shouldn't have an age limit, even Nico, but the thing is, is that I'm not sure whether it's love or lust and whether my friends approve...
"I know what you're thinking Mya... no I'm not in love" I pulled a face "And I personally don't think I'm too young... I mean, honestly, I'm the last person anyone would expect to have a boyfriend first... and well, lets just face it... I have a boyfriend! I didn't know this was gonna happen, and I ain't regretting it either... so if you think I'm a slag... please tell me" I lowered my voice at the end
"No way! You're are not a slag! Look! There's girls out there at the age of 12 having sex, getting drunk and being pregnant! You're 14 for gods-sake! It's only two years difference! Besides, if we thought that we would tell you straight away... we're just concerned... I mean, we haven't met him yet" Mya explained
I was very grateful for that... It gave me a sense of security, like I always had someone behind my back. Mya had always been reasonable, but Maddison always sees both sides of the argument, and I think right now, they both understand my position but suddenly doubt me...
I decided to leave it there... lay low and try not to go on about Nico as much, try and keep it to myself as I had noticed that the more people I told, the more of my happiness I gave away with the details. That might sound really weird, but I'd noticed that if I'm really excited about something or just reasonably happy and if I tell someone my ideas or why I'm happy, I tend to loose a little bit of spark with the more people I tell...
But I need to tell someone... I decided that there would only be two people I could share this with: Kendall and Kate. As much as I'd love to rub this in Gina's face, I simply couldn't tell her... I couldn't risk the fact that she might go off and tell her mom, who'd then tell me mom...nope, I can't risk it.
I spent the rest of Monday morning, in lessons, trying to act cool, like everything was boring and typical but inside I was buzzing, daydreaming about Nico and doing everything apart from learning...
When at break time, Untitled had a band practise and we were reheasing one of the many songs I had written. I guess you could say that break and lunch times make my day because there is nothing I enjoy more than music, singing and playing an instrument.
Mya had been strumming out random chords and Faye was practising on the drums when I had a sudden brainwave.
"Hold it..." I sais, pointing at Mya "Faye, keep drumming that beat" I instructed
"Mya... C,Am,G,E..." I madde up the chords from the top of my head, and as she strummed them in a repeating up,up,down,up pattern it suprisingly sounded great.
"Maddison. Get that guitar and do a tune" I said
Maddison picked up the accoustic guitar and started picking. It sounded amazing! I felt myself swaying to the music. I walked up to Kendall and Zoe and pointed for them to watch me and copy when they thougth they had it.
"Uh, yeah... lalala! You don't say!" I sand, keeping a nice, simple rhytm
They copied me, and I hushed them down into the background. Faint but still indetifiable.
"Getting carried away... dreaming 'bout our big break!" I sang...
The rest of break didn't feel long enough, and neither did lunch. By the end of the day, we had written a new song... Something to be proud of.
