When he pulled me up, Kate and I followed closely behind and threw looks at each other, which you have to admit, every girl does when a cute boy is walking in front or behind her! I raised both of my eyebrows at Kate and she winked back at me… I couldn’t supress my laughter and had a sudden laughing fit that lasted like three seconds. Nico turned back and smiled sweetly, although there was a dash of curiosity in his eyes.

“You okay?” he asked politely. I couldn’t trust myself to speak so I nodded.

I stayed outside until it was time to go, and trust me it had been so far the best day of the whole summer holidays! Nico and I messed around for at least 3 hours, playing this game and that and just having a laugh. I felt so relaxed around him! I kept throwing him hints, like smiling and looking directly into his eyes and fluttering my eyelashes, pouting and unnecessary touching but I don’t think he gets it. Wow, this was gonna be harder than I first thought…

I don’t know where Gina was during the rest of the day, but all I know is that she didn’t come in between Nico and I. Thank the holy lord up in the heavens for that, because if she did, I would’ve gotten a free-way pass to hell! Kate had her hands full too; she was messing around with little Benny and seems to have a secret admirer: the little ginger boy!

As we walked home, we were discussing the day’s events and I started to tease Kate about her new boyfriend. She blushed and told me to go away and immediately changed the subject to me and Nico.  I didn’t wanna say anything because Gina was right behind our tails, so I just winked and mouthed ‘later’. She got the picture and nodded.

When we got home, I didn’t really want to go in. so I asked Kate if she wanted to come for a walk, unfortunately Gina heard and I had to ask her, see how polite I am?! She obviously agreed. We then started making our way around the ‘block’ when I noticed a familiar circle of young teen guys, same age as us and some were younger.

One of the guys named Josh called out to me “Oi! Who’s that? Is it your cousin?” I considered wether to tell him the truth or mess with him when I saw the look in Kate eyes…

Oh my, that girl is falling for him! I could tell by the little secretive smile on her lips and the way her eyes twinkled when he looked at her that she has a crush on this horrible little bastatrd.

“What’s it to you?” I called back and kept walking, half dragging Kate with me.

“Who’s that?” she asked when we were too far away for her to spot him

“Finally stopped gawping have you? That’s Josh. He’s such an asshole” I spat the words with such venom that even Gina looked up from her daydream

“How old is he?” asked Gina.

Oh no, I aint letting her get to Kate!

“Way too young for you… 13” I rolled my eyes.

“Hmm” Kate muttered and before she could open her mouth to say anything more I interrupted her

“Don’t even think about it! He’s an idiot! And disgusting!” but I could tell she wasn’t paying attention.

In a way, I was glad that she had a crush, so that way she wouldn’t have to put up with me telling her about what it’s like to fancy someone, but at the same time I’m scared that she’s fallen for the wrong guy. And as far as I know Josh is so not the guy for her! She deserves someone better! Josh is a jerk who likes to diss girls, and I should know because he treated my best friend like this… I still won’t forgive him!

There was also that one time when Aaron kicked him and he went home crying and his mom phoned the POLICE! Hah! What a wimp! Not to mention the times when I end up beating him up because he calls me some rude names or something! So as I said before… total jerk!

As we approach the turn, I see Jacian up ahead and my knees suddenly tremble and I feel… guilty? I don’t know why! We’re not even dating or anything but I just felt like betrayed him or something because I spent the whole day with some other guy… weird…

He standing around with his friends, some of them a couple of years older than him. Wow, the way he settles in every summer is incredible! Some people find it hard to fit in and are shy, but as soon as this guy comes to Birmingham he seems to have a bucket-load of friends to hang out with… or does he pay them? That’s ridiculous! Hah! Stop!

I stop my thoughts as we walk past them and out of the corner of my eye glance at Jacian. He’s still so good looking and seems to have this permanent aura around him that makes people attracted to him. I wonder if he wears ‘Lynx’ body spray… that would explain it!

As we finally turn and take about ten steps, I breathe a sigh of relief. We made it! No comments, no asking for numbers and no swearing. I still can’t get the image of Jacian and Gina together! Urgh! I almost makes me dry heave! I spoke too soon…

“Hey, the girl in heels! Bend over so I can lick ya out!” Called Danny… The horrible 18 year old who is the laziest, ugliest and stupidest person I have ever met!

I gasped and looked at Gina. She smiled, almost as if she understood every word. Maybe she understands more than what we give her credit for…
