The feeling!

As we walked back, with him smiling and laughing, looking into my eyes and me into his, I felt like I truly belonged with him... as though I could be awkward and stupid and still know that he liked me...

When we got across the stones, yet again me feigning a fall and his hands on my waist and got up to the place where we started, I felt dissapointed, like our time together was way too short for my liking. And to make it worse, Kate stood there with a massive frown on her face, looking completely pissed off.

"Ok, guess this is goodbye" I said and smiled up to Nico's eyes, in a trance.

"'Till next wednesday?" He asked

"Of course!" I said and was surprised when he leaned in for a hug. I smiled at the warm weight of his arms around my waist and hugged him back... Just like my fairytale endings...

He turned and stumbled back across the muddy path, whilst I stood there, staring after him, not quiet able to believe in what just happened... I had my first date! Arghhh! And it was sooo magical! Just like the romances I'd read and all of the fairytale stories...

I turned on my heel, took Kate by the arm and began to make my way home, humming Taylor Swift's 'Today was a fairytale' under my breath with a stupid grin on my face.

I couldn't help it! Everything felt so divine, and well... PERFECT! I... maybe I was in love? Wait! I can't be! That's ridiculous! Or can I... I just hoped he was the right guy to fall for...

"Do you realise that I had to stand out there in the bleeding cold for a whole hour and a half?! Whilst you're here making goo-goo eyes at wonderboy!" Kate snapped, her frustration coiled too tightly around her head.

"Hmm? You know I would've done the same for you..." I daydreamed, sighed and ran away with thee unicorns into the sunset

"When? I mean, with whom, it's not like-"

"You said an hour and a half? Hour and a half? Why didn't you come find me?! Omg! Mom's probably going ballistic! Hurry your ass, we gotta run!" I screamed and made a sprint for it.

My heart wasn't beating nearly as fast as it was when Nico was holding me, but it felt like the next best thing... Even the thought of getting in trouble didn't seem to bother me as my head was reeling and I wanted to feel like this everyday!

When we rushed through the front door, we were fortunate enough not to have my mom standing and waiting for us, but to have her in her room talking to relatives on 'Skype'. That was a good sign...

I walked up the stairs, ready to apologise and do whatever it takes when my mom walked past and said, 'Make sure you take your shoes off'

Yes!! We're off the hook! But the one thing I know is that for next wednesday, Kate is so not coming, I've got to find a better excuse and I can't wait to see him again!
