I walked home, emotionally and physically exhausted... I just wanted to go to my bedroom and recall todays' events, but there wasn't going to be any relaxation. As soon as I walked through my door, my mother pounced on me.

"Where the hell have you been? I've been going out of my mind wondering where you are! Especially today!" She screamed in my face, looking like she'd like to lock me in a cellar or something.

"I'm sorry... I was just, walking... I needed space" I said, understanding exactly why she's so concerned.

"I don't care! Monika! It's 6 o'clock, I had no idea where you were, who you were with and what you were doing!" She glared at me frustratedly.

I felt myself blush at 'what you were doing' but managed to stumble "I'm honestly sorry mom..."

"I don't care! Sorry isn't gonna be enough now is it? It's ever since you started going to that school that you've changed, you were such a lovely girl!" That'd done it, my blood was bubbling now

"I changed? Mom, I grew up, I found my responsibilities as a woman, and so what I make mistakes but don't blame it on my school or friends because you've never met any of them!"

"Don't you dare talk to me like that! Who d'you think you are?! I think I might have to reconsider what school you're going to..." She said, totally ignoring the fury in my eyes.

"D'you know what?! Whatever! Go do what you want! I don't care anymore, I found today that life is too short to be thinking like that" I said and stomped off to my room, holding tears.

I hate it when my mom and I argue. It's so unfair in most cases, and I end up in surrender. I hate the way she tries to blame my school and friends, for gods-sake she hasn't even met them! She always presumes... I just... I hate it!

I shut the door and leaned against it, sighing and trying to re-live my fantasy moment with Nico. He seemed so far away now that it almost felt surreal... He felt surreal,

I jumped onto my bed, face first and just closed my eyes, replaying the happy moments with Nico today, smiling to myself. Then the bad recallations of my uncles death repeated themself and of my mother and I arguing.

Sunday morning, I got up fairly early and decided I wanted to go to the library, have some time studying or just being normal for a change. I remembered Nico had told me that somehow his aunt and uncle had found out about us and hilariously, well to me, they'd asked me over for dinner! But that just made my time shorter. My time to tell mom. And there was no way I was gonna tell her now!

I got washed, dressed and styled my hair; gently knocked on my mothers' bedroom door and softly asked if I may leave to go to the library. She was reluctant, but still let me go. You see, my parents, they don't  do 'groundings; so that was kind of my advantage, but when we argue... let's just say that the dogs start howling.

I made my way to the library, before leaving I messaged Nico to call me on my cell, hoping that he'd read his message quick and call me, as I'd realised I ran out of credit. Just as I walked out of the front door, Nico called me and I answered saying 'Hiya Jess' letting him know I'm in the ear-shot of the parentals.

"Hey baby" He said casually "Whassup?"

"Nothing, but pure boredom, I was wondering whether you'd like to go to the library with me?" I inquired as I crossed the road.

"Uh... today?" He asked, nervously maybe?

"Yeah... is it a problem?"

"Well kinda, because I gotta look after the kids, you know, aunt and uncle going out again and stuff... got loads of revision, tests coming up and all that..."

"Hmhm... okay. Nevermind. Bye" I said

"Bye baby, sorry"

"S'alright. Bye" I said and hung up.

Something inside me was telling me that there was something wrong... something not quiet in position. I felt out of place, as though I was missing something, but I shrugged it off and made my way to the library, hoping to get a hold of a good classic romance.

When I got home, and gave my mom the recieve for the bills I payed on the way, I ran up to my room and started laughing at myself hysterically. Oh my lord! I'm sooo awkward! Remembering meeting Nico's uncle in the post-office, whilst I was looking through the bills someone kind of hollared 'oi!' I didn't really think much of it, untill who-ever it was gently put his hand on my arm. I looked up and smiled broadly, said my hello's in a really high, pitchy voice. He smiled at me knowingly and walked away.

I could never have been any more awkward! It was absoloutely humiliating, number one, not even looking up when he called me, number two, speaking in some high girly voice and stuttering! I was a major awkward social weirdo.

I didn't realise I'd fell asleep, and when I woke up it was Monday morning. I sighed, got up and left my room for the bathroom, hoping I'd get there before everyone else managed to queue up. I did what I had to do, got changed and styled my hair, then I remembered that I had spoken to Nico last night and became suddenly dissapointed.

On my way to school, I felt glowing, I saw Bailey and Levi and they instantly began talking to me. I crinkled my nose in disgust and totally ignored them, walking away, holding my head high. I don't know whether or not they can see the radiant glow in me or whether it's just the simple fact that I'm happy and confident that made them see me in a different light, though I wasn't gonna ask them. I'd hated them from the moment their family started messing with mine.

Classes were surprisingly easy, though I found it ever so hard to concentrate, my mind going back to Nico every minute...

I had band practise at lunch and break, and it was amazing fun! We spent half of our time discussing what to do at Mya's fourteenth birthday party, and just literally jamming. Her birthday was coming up this friday and we were all planing to go to her house, and well...party!

I was so excited, knowing that we'd have a great time and knowing that I had two things to look forward to this week...

Friday= Mya's party

and

Wednesday= more hugs and kisses from Nico!
