Chapter Fifty-Nine
There's No More
"Mama, won't you be coming?" Avis asked.
Umiling ako bago ko siya nginitian. "It will only be for a few days, baby. Besides... your daddy, yeye, nainai and your uncles will be there," I smiled at him as I finished folding one of his shirts.
Achaia and his family will be flying abroad to China for a week and he asked me if he could bring Avis with them. It was fine with me, deserve naman nilang dalawa na mag-bonding at para rin mas makilala siya ni Avis at ang pamilya niya.
He even offered me a ticket, but I declined of course. I just think it was inappropriate and it would be awkward to join him and his family on their trip.
Sinara ko na ang maleta niya at tinabihan ko na siya sa kama. "You'll be okay without me. Mabait naman daddy mo, 'di ba? And he also loves Iron Man, just like you."
"Can't you come?"
Ngumiti ako bago umiling sa kanya. "I'll be waiting for you here once you get home and if you miss me, you can always call me. We can facetime," I said as I kissed him on the cheek.
With that, he smiled and nodded. "Okay, Mama."
"Go to sleep na, okay? And tomorrow you'll ride an airplane. You'll be in the sky and you'll see the clouds, that's going to be super exciting, right?"
He nodded again before he closed his eyes and we both drifted off to sleep.

"Tito Daffin!" Avis said as he hugged him. "I'm going to be riding an airplane today!" he excitedly said.
Daffin smiled at him as he tapped his head. "You'll be a good boy, okay? And don't forget to bring home pasalubong."
He chuckled. "Tito Daffin's asking for pasalubong Mama!"
I smiled at him as I picked him up. "Mama will miss you so much. Be a good boy, okay?" I told him.
He smiled while nodding.
Sabay kaming napatingin sa lalaking kumatok sa pintuan. It was Achaia. He was wearing a white polo tucked in his khaki pants. I also noticed that he cut his hair. He looked super clean as usual.
Lumakad na ako papalapit sa kanya dala dala si Avis.
"Good morning, Ms. Dela Cuesta," he smiled.
"Oh please." I rolled my eyes at him. "Okay na Asia."
He chuckled. "So, are you ready?" he asked Avis.
Avis nodded excitedly before he looked back at me and frowned. "Can't you really come, Mama?" he asked.
Umiling ako bago ngumiti. "I told you, you can always call me. Your papa can always call me, right?" I looked at Achaia.
He smiled. "Yes, you can always call Mama whenever you miss her," sabi niya bago niya kinuha sa akin si Avis.
"Be a good boy, okay?" Avis nodded again. "And please call me if anything goes wrong," I said to Achaia.
"Yes, Ma'am," he smiled at me.
I walked them outside, until we reached Achaia's car.
"Enjoy your trip, okay?" I told Avis.
"Yes, Mama. Yes," he giddily said in his small voice.
I kissed him on the cheek before letting him hop inside the car. Pumasok na rin naman si Achaia sa kotse. He looked at me and he was about to close the door when he stopped midway.
