"Yesterday at 9:57 pm, the body of Jake Brown was discovered in his residency. All evidence points to a suicide. A note was found on the desk stating that Jake Brown was behind the murders of his past girlfriends. We send all our condolences to the families of not only the victims of Jake Brown, but the family of Jake Brown too." It took them a day to find Jake's body lying on the floor in his house and they announced the news on the local radio station early in the morning. I was on my way to school as I listened to everything that we were informed of. My phone pinged from my bag and dived through it to see who it was from.
'Meet me at our spot tonight, your money will be handed to you.' A simple message from my boss with the information about my pay check. I chucked my phone to the side and let out a sigh. I still felt the tiniest bit of guilt at what I had just done, and I always would. Every time I ever too the life of another human, I would always feel bad. Their families had to pay for the consequences that their children made.
It wasn't long until I reached the campus and I waited patiently in my car for classes to begin. From the corner of my eye, I noticed three men stood in suits. I would have to assume that they were new teachers as I doubt anyone would come to class looking all professional the way they did. They didn't look related but more of just close friends. I could already see everyone swooning over the trio when they entered the class. I could only hope that none of them taught the classes I had, I didn't want to deal with a bunch of desperate people wanting the attention of men who most likely wouldn't look their way, but I guess I would have to wait and see. It was clear that the three of them took care in their health by the skin tight suits that exposed the size of their arms. One of them appeared to be older than the other two, making that judgement by the light stubble he had on his face. Almost as if he had felt my eyes on him, he looked in my direction and our eyes connected. I didn't break the eye contact and instead, continued staring too. The other two men turned around to see what their friend was looking at and it was then that I looked away from him.
The bell suddenly rang, and I hopped out of my car and began walking to my first class, maths. If there was one class that I sucked at the most, it was maths. I felt like the most stupid person in that room every time someone raised their hand to answer, and I had something way off to what it was. I sat in the far corner of the room, closest to the window, and most of the time found myself distracted as I imagined myself walking out of campus and going home. It was the dream I waited for until the ended of the day and it didn't make my suffering any better when it felt like maths class went longer than any other class I had.
"Excuse me!" I was snapped out of my thoughts by a voice. A voice that belonged to one of the suited men who were looking my way. "Could you point us in the direction of the classes we'll be teaching?" The man who appeared to be the more gentle of the trio stepped forward with a piece of paper in his hand. I looked over at the classes and internally groaned as I realised, they would be teaching my classes, but what happened to my old teachers?
