"-He threatened to break all my fingers? Like what the fuck, bro. You're literally my boss you can't talk to me like that. As if I can't report you for that kind of stuff." Riley still hadn't finished his rambling about how much he hated their boss, and Blythe was forced to listen to it all.
"Yeah, go and report him. Why don't you tell them we kill people too while you're at it." She rolled her eyes. She perked up when she heard the sound of footsteps in her house. "Shit." She mumbled thinking the green eyed man had returned to finish her off, but then she heard two other sets of footsteps following the other and cursed even more when she saw who it was.
"Blythe?" Maddox was the first person in the room and his eyes flickered around at everything, first Blythe, then the bodies and then Riley who had somehow not noticed that they were here.
"You know if they were out to get us we'd be dead." Blythe whispered over to Riley who finally snapped out of it and looked up to see three very angry men.
"Oh! Friends, nice of you to join us. As you can see, Blythe ran into an issue and I merely saved the day."
"What happened?" Maddox stepped over the bodies so he could accompany Blythe. He checked over her swelling cheek and placed a hand on her thigh making her wince at the pressure. "Are you hurt all over?" He checked other places to find any signs of assault.
Ashton approached the two and crouched down in front of Blythe. "Who did this?" His voice was cool calm and collected but his body language told a whole different story. His fists were clenched at his side while he eyebrows were pulled together in a frown. Blythe didn't say anything as she awkwardly glanced around the room. Ashton used his hand to force Blythe to look at him. "Who did this, Blythe?" He repeated his words coming out more aggressive the second time.
She let out a sigh and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know." She mumbled. "He said that I knew him, but I've never seen him before."
"What'd he look like?" Radley asked, there was suspicion in his eyes as he stared down at the lifeless bodies that he recognized.
"He was tall, about the same height as you guys. Had these dull green eyes, and he was covered in tattoos." Blythe recalled.
"Did he have one above his eyebrow?"
"Yeah, he did..." All three men reacted negatively to that response, while Radley's head dropped, Maddox cursed and Ashton's jaw clenched. "You know him?" She groaned as she situated herself to sit up properly. Radley appeared to be conflicted with his answer as he looked back and forth between Maddox and Ashton. "The truth, Radley." Blythe spoke up when no one said anything.
"It's a man that we have problems with, okay? He's out to get us, has been for the majority of his sorry existence. He was who we needed to protect you from, nobody else can compare to the power that he has." Radley explained.
Blythe thought back to the list of people that were out to get them when she remember one name in particular. "Alonzo..?"
"You know him?" Maddox questioned.
Blythe looked over at Riley to see if he knew anything but his facial expression was filled with nothing but confusion as he was constantly glancing at everyone in the room. "Not really. My boss gave me a list of people that were after you guys and he was the main one."
"You're boss gave you details about us? Like our background and everything?" Maddox asked, shocked that the man was able to get that sort of information about them.
"Yeah, well I think so. I didn't go through any of your background information, if that's what you're wondering. I didn't want to intrude on something that wasn't my business." It was ironic for Blythe to say considering the three men in the room had gone through all her background details, at least the little bit that they could find, while she herself was trying to be respectful of them. But what she didn't know, wouldn't hurt her, for now at least. "So, who is Alonzo, and why is he out to get you so desperately?"
"He's a powerful man, always has been and he always will be if we don't stop him. Why he's after us is something that will be discussed privately, but as of right now, we need to get you some help." Radley decided to finally approach Blythe after standing close by the door since he had got here and reached his hand up. "Besides, we aren't the only people that he's after. You're boss has his name up pretty high on the list of people that he's after from what I've heard."
Before Blythe could reach and hand up to Radley so they could stand her up, there was another set of loud footsteps entering her house.
Radley was quick to grab the gun that was discarded on the floor whilst Ashton and Maddox pulled out their own. "Wait! Stop." Blythe stopped them when she noticed who it was.
For the first time since she had met him, Blythe was able to see her boss in his natural form, and that meant without a suit and in comfy clothes, and discarded was his shades that revealed a set of familiar bright green eyes.
It was then she realized how similar the man looked to her attacker.
