"It is indeed, Leorio." Kurapika spoke his name with such fondness that it made the taller man absolutely want to melt. He wanted to hold the Kurta and kiss his head gently for eternity, but for now, they were both laying down, enjoying the fair weather and sky filled with cirrus and cumulus clouds alike. Kurapika's comparison of Leorio to a flower with such symbolism made his heart heavy with love for the blonde, so much so that it could just about overflow out of his every pore. Leorio didn't quite know how to counter it, so he laid in silence for a few moments, thinking of how to respond.
"That's... wow..." Leorio was stunned. He knew Kurapika was eloquent and elegant in his speech patterns, but never before had he been so wowed by his beloved.
"Well, if I am, as you say 'like a daffodil,' you must be a sunflower, sunshine." He smiled. He knew it was cheesy, but he was trying his best. Try as he might, he wouldn't ever reach the level of dignity that Kurapika held in his speech alone. But that was alright, really. Kurapika appreciated the comment nonetheless.
Nothing about their love needed to be proper, anyways. Only sincere.
And just like how all living things need nurture and care, this simple moment helped their relationship flourish to new levels of love and care for one another. Leorio took care of Kurapika as if he truly was a delicate sunflower, and Kurapika continued to love his daffodil, because when everything else was dark and cold, Leorio was bright and warm.
Leorio always promised Kurapika's return to spring.
