'Did ya know,' Gon began, that day. He sat up from the trunk he was leaning on, slinging his arms the branch he was now laying on instead. He looked down at the white mess of hair and the ocean-blue eyes of his friend, who was relaxing face-up on the ground with his hands in his pockets.

'-that it takes one second for a Sakura petal to fall down from the sky five centimeters?'

Now Gon was clutching onto the branch only with his legs as his whole body fell sideways, letting himself hang on the tree upside-down. He crossed his arms to prevent them from falling numb. Gon kept his curious eyes locked onto his companion, who didn't seem to wince at his movements.

Killua's face, which was arched back a little to face the overturned figure that possessed tanned skin and spikey, green hair, looked back mindlessly. He wondered how long it would take for Gon to start feeling sick. Knowing him, it would probably be way longer than what should humanly be possible.

'No, had no idea. What of it?' He asked. He felt a breeze swirl past. Killua peered at the tips of Gon's hair, who were being swept by the wind.

Gon stared into distance, probably where the rest of the Sakura trees resided. Killua couldn't help but notice he looked pretty like this, in tank top and shorts as the sunlight rayed behind him through the mesmerizing pink flowers. The whitehaired looked away quickly from that.

Gon snapped from his trance with a 'huh?' and turned his attention back to his friend. 'Oh, jus' thinking.'

Killua sighed. He got up and climbed the same branch Gon was hanging on, facing him upside-down with an annoyed frown. 'You always think too much,' he announced with an accusing finger and narrowed eyes.

Gon smiled apologetically at him as he stuck his tongue out. 'I guess.'

Killua remained silent as dark, fathomless brown eyes meet ocean blue irises. They just stayed there, like that, for a while. Not really knowing what to do but surprisingly enough not wanting to break the moment, either.

They were eight years old, that day.

'Gon, I have to leave.'

Gon looked up from the console game he was playing with confused eyes. Killua was next to him, a similar console in his hands but his face was turned to Gon's direction, and his lips were pursed.

He had a Pokémon game at hand, but he didn't look happy at all.

'Whatcha mean?' Gon asked dumbly. He sat straighter as he put down his game. 'If ya need to go home, then why d'ya look so sad? We'll see each other tomorrow, right?'

Killua closed his eyelids. His head fell down a little. Gon couldn't help the churning feeling that was forming in his stomach.

'That's not what I mean,' Killua finally said. He looked back up. His ethereal blue eyes were somber, and his pale nose was getting a little red.
