Ch 25 - Missing

After sending his students off to their internships, Aizawa tried to quiet his growing anxiety by throwing himself into near constant patrols, minus when he'd be exercising with Shinso. He hadn't heard anything from Mitsu, or anyone who might've known anything about her well-being, and it started eating away at him.  He knew for a fact that she would've contacted him, or sent him some sort of sign to let him know she's okay. But none of that happened. Hours turned into days, and soon days turned into a week.

The day before his class came back, Aizawa went directly to the police station to speak with the chief and detective. I'm done with this radio silence, I need answers. He had been in contact with Nezu, who was also trying to figure out what's been happening, but he had come up with nothing.

As he walks into the station, he sees a familiar tower of blonde hair peaking over one of the cubicle walls.

Ignoring it for now, Aizawa walks up to the front desk, where a young female is just putting down the phone and typing on the computer. She sees him approach and says, "Hello Eraserhead, what can I do for you?"

"I need to speak with Chief Tsuragamae and Detective Tsukauchi," Aizawa notices that the girls eyebrows furrow, and just as she opens her mouth to speak, he cuts her off, "It's urgent."

The receptionist simply sighs and gestures to the doors at the end of the hall. Once the pro hero is out of earshot, she quickly phones the chief, "Sir, Eraserhead is on the way to your room, he seemed agitated. He asked for both you and Detective Tsukauchi."

The other line isn't heard, but Hizashi's eyebrows furrow in confusion as he walks down the same hall his best friend had just gone through. Once he's halfway down, he starts hearing the familiar smooth, deep voice of his ravenette friend. However it's slightly unfamiliar as Hizashi rarely hears Aizawa raise his voice out of genuine anger, since he's usually so calm and rational. The blonde picks up the pace and turns the corner to see Aizawa holding Tsukauchi by the collar, his eyes glowing red and his hair flowing around him erratically. The veins on his neck and forehead popping, while his jaw is clenched as he grits his teeth together.

"WHAT DO YOU FUCKING MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER MISSION OR WHEREABOUTS?!"

The detective had his hands up in surrender, with cold sweat on his brow. While the Chief of Police noticed Hizashi's arrival and avoided eye contact. The blonde squints in suspicion and makes his way towards the animaloid officer. On his way, he places his hand on Aizawa's shoulder and gives it a firm squeeze, before addressing the chief, "What's this about?"

Tsuragamae clears his throat before, once again, avoiding eye contact and responding, "The Angel Vigilante was dispatched for a mission that only a select few individuals know any information about. The detective and I escorted her to the Commission's headquarters and dropped her off, we weren't allowed into the building... When we asked about it, we were told it's only on a need to know basis and that it is unknown when she will return... But..."

There was a tense silence as the two pro heroes digested the information, and lack thereof, that they had just learned. Hizashi presses, "But what?"

Tsukauchi, still being held by Aizawa, nearly inaudibly says, "The men who escorted her inside the building seemed extremely tense and nervous..." He swallows thickly before giving Aizawa a look of guilt, "When I briefed Nezu on the situation he wanted me to ask a question on his behalf... they said yes, and that we shouldn't worry about it at all... but it was a lie."

The two teachers stiffen, and Aizawa's quirk activates again, Hizashi not bothering to calm him down, as he's forcing himself not to let his anger get the better of him. The ravenette curls his arms so that Tsukachi's face is directly in front of his. His usual monotone voice now sharp and steely, as he nearly snarls his question "What was the question that Nezu told you to ask?"
