A/N - Hello all, I unfortunately have some bad news. I have just started grad school and will most likely not have a lot of time to work on the story, so updates will be extremely infrequent, or I might not be able to update at all for a while. Again I want to apologize, and thank you guys for your patience and understanding ❤️
A few nights had passed since Mitsu's initial showing at the underground fighting ring, but nothing new has happened since then. Mitsu had been hoping that she would get contacted by a group to hire her as a drug mule or mercenary of sorts, but no such inquiry had reached her.
Realizing that it might've been wishful thinking to have expected progress with her mission after one showing, Mitsu decided to be patient and maybe even go back to the night club she fought at. But she then realized that they might not let her in without Hattori, so she calmly waited for him to contact her again, but he never did.
Nearly a week had passed and Mitsu maintained the same routine everyday. Wake up and do some yoga, eat breakfast, relax until lunch, make food again, exercise, do some chores or run errands, make dinner, then go out for a walk and scout the area, get home, shower, send a feather home, and then go to bed. Rinse and repeat.
After about a week and a half of this, she was surprised to find to find a gift wrapped box waiting for her at her apartment door.
Mitsu quickly sends out feathers around the building and surrounding area to see if anyone is lurking and watching her, but she doesn't find anyone. She picks up the box and quickly enters her apartment, locking the door behind her before skeptically fiddling with the box. For the size, it was light in weight and the object inside seems to only softly scrape against the box, making her think that it's made of some sort of fabric.
Nobody should know this address aside from the HPSC President, Mera, and Hattori... so who gave me this gift? There was nothing else attached to it that could give her a clue as to who it was from. Well, it's unlikely to be dangerous if it actually arrived to me without Hattori's interference, I'm pretty sure he's supposed to monitor me for the time being so it should be fine, Mitsu thinks to herself as she starts to rip the decorative paper off of the box.
She gingerly opens the box and is surprised to find a stuffed animal inside. It was shaped like a bear, but without being able to see the colors on the surface, she couldn't tell if it was any specific type of bear.
Mitsu made a showing of turning the bear around, as if she was admiring it. But she was actually using her feathers to investigate it, only moving the bear around to obscure any possible visibility of her feathers if there happened to be a camera inside the toy.
After sinking a few of her feathers into the soft and fluffy insides, she concluded that there was indeed a some sort of device behind one of the eyes, but it was too small for her to figure out exactly what it was. In the end, she decided to just assume the worst and proceed as if it was both a camera and microphone.
She carries the bear over to the bedside table and places it on top, carefully placing it to make sure the camera would have a good view of the entire studio apartment. Either this is from the HPSC so that they can watch me, or it's from someone who is interested in me for whatever reason.
But then, Mitsu thinks back to the last couple of days where she'd notice the same cloaked figure occasionally following her during her evening walks. Originally she had assumed it was a commission employee keeping an eye on her, but she had no way of knowing for certain. All things considered, this is most likely from the man that's been following me, or someone affiliated with him. It's best if I pretend to treat the stuffed bear as is intended, a cute gift. Otherwise I might raise suspicion to whoever this "secret admirer" is.
