"How are you feeling Native? Have all your injuries been looked at?"
"I'm actually doing great, the Ange- I mean, Celestia healed a lot of my injuries before I was brought to the hospital."
"How did it feel to be saved by Celestia?"
"Honestly... it was pretty terrifying. She seemed to have a personal connection to Stain, and they were just talking instead of her fighting him and apprehending him."
"Are you saying that her allegiances might be questionable?"
"Not exactly. I mean, everyone saw her take down that crazy Nomu like it was nothing, and even Endeavor couldn't put a single scratch on it. But we can't ignore the fact that she has some sort of long standing relationship with the Hero Killer. Never mind the fact that she looks absolutely terrifying when she transforms. Nothing at all like an angel, or even a hero for that matter..."
"Yes, I think everyone can agree that the extreme difference between her two forms is quite... alarming. But you mentioned earlier, when you were speaking to Detective Tsukauchi, that when Stain called her the apex of heroism, she had disagreed and said that she isn't the hero that he claims she is."
"Yeah, but I have no idea what that means. She kept calling him Stendhal, I think their relationship dates way back before he started killing heroes. She didn't recognize him until he called her some nickname I think? Ta-tak? Taka-chan or something like that. But one of her students did lash out at her because of their relationship, so it's hard for me to really have an opinion of whether I trust her or not. You would think that a student that she's been teaching all year, as well as saved during the USJ fight, that he'd at least give her the benefit of the doubt ya know?"
"Do you think she's potentially a spy for the League of Villi-"
Hajime had turned off the TV showing the live interview that Native was currently doing from his hospital room. He looked at his mom with concern, as did everyone else in the room.
When she had gotten back to the apartment, Kenma had told everyone that a live interview with Native was about to broadcasted, specifically planned to be centered around his experience of being saved by Celestia, so they thought it would be an exciting morning activity.
But if Kenma had known that the conversation would go in this direction, he never would've mentioned it.
The family knows that their guardian has had her loyalties questioned time and time again. But that was when she was working as a vigilante.
Now, she's working as a hero, teaching at the most renown private hero school in Japan, and she's still being doubted. The news reporter even had the audacity to push the idea that Celestia shouldn't be trusted as a hero.
Mitsu stands up with a tired sigh, "I'm going to shower, but I should be finished by the time Shouta and the boys get back with the food." Anyone else would've said that she seems to be indifferent to it all, but her kids know better. They know her, and they're fully aware that their adoptive mother is very, very tired.
Everyone has a breaking point. A single individual can only be patient for so long. And Takami Mitsukai has been dealing with bullshit left and right since the day she was born. And 27 years later, you'd think that life would let up and give her a break. But sometimes it seems like it only gets worse. She gives and gives and receives slander and mistrust, and very little of anything else.
The teens all watch her small figure disappear into the bedroom. Koushi and Kiyoomi were biting their lip in frustration, while Kageyama's hands were clenched at his sides.
