Charlie had heard the whole conversation. Usually it was Lawrence who was injured and Dr. Collingwood worrying over him, never the other way around.
Another way that "Incident 6134-C" has turned everything upside-down.
Molly's voice frightened him. She was clearly in pain, a no-brainer considering the fact that her burns hadn't fully healed, but trying her hardest to hide it. He quickly darted away from the door when he heard Lawrence starting to leave to deliver the news to his brothers.
Ancestors, please, give her strength.

"She was in so much pain. I could tell from her voice," Charlie said, "but she was trying to hide it. She really does not want anyone to worry about her."
"And to think that she is the one that loathsome serpent called weak and soft!" Simon paced about. "If anything, she is everything that he will never be!"
Charlie nodded. To be honest, of all the ways she could've grown up, he never expected her to become like this. Then again, who would have thought that the meek and mild little girl would grow up to have the heart of a lion?
"If she's still able to walk after all this, I'm going to church," Dr. Buck muttered.
John put his head down on his knees, mumbling a thankful prayer that at least she was awake.
