Dr. Collingwood switched on each of the four animatronic little snowmen and looked over at Lawrence, grinned. He grinned back and gave her a thumbs up.
She knelt down and said, loudly and clearly, "Merry Christmas!"
The all but three of the snowmen repeated back "Merry Christmas!" and the fourth one repeated it a little slower, causing a feedback loop where the snowmen continued to repeat that phrase, each time higher than the last. Dr. Collingwood shut them off after laughing for several minutes once it got too high pitched and loud for her ears.
"Good thing they still work," she commented. Lawrence tossed his head back and laughed.
"Oh God, I can't imagine the chaos that's gonna ensue when Eddie and Billy figure out what those things do," he giggled.
She went over to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, lying her head on his chest.
"I'll be freezing on Christmas night," she said teasingly. "Oh, how will I stay warm?"
Lawrence wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the forehead. "Your prince is right here, if you want him," he whispered.
She grabbed him by his hood and pulled him down until they were close enough for their noses to touch.
"Can I?"
He smiled and nodded.
She stood up on her tiptoes, kissing him with all the love and passion she'd kept squashed down all those months she'd thought she'd lost him, and he did the same.
