The nurse sighed. Whenever Dr. Collingwood started seemingly panicking while unconscious she would always try to help and get her vitals down to stable levels, but in the end she was forced to wait until the panic attack passed. Seemed like she was having some kind of nightmare. A very violent nightmare.
Dr. Collingwood slumped to the checkered floor. She was back in that endless room again.
She had tried everything she could think of to get someone's attention and tell them that something was wrong. But nothing worked. Try as she might, her stupid body wouldn't move.
If someone touched her or spoke in the real world, she could still feel or hear it faintly here, so she wasn't shut off from the outside world. But it wasn't any better. Arguably, it was worse. It was like life was taunting her.

John curled into a tiny ball. He was now certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that whatever made Molly fall into a coma was anomalous. From what little information the medical staff had told him, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. But she still didn't wake up. Worst of all, he could do nothing to help.
Why, why, why? I should have been more careful, should have kept a closer eye on her, I-I-I... forget it, John. There is nothing you can do now, other than hope.
