Dr. Collingwood stared at the back of Lawrence's head while she bent down and scooped up a handful of snow, giggling.

"Hey, Lawrence!"

"Hey, what's- oof!"

The snowball hit him right in the face. She burst into laughter and started running away, Lawrence close on her tail. When he caught up with her, he shoved a load of snow down the back of her jacket.

She let out a startled shriek, trying to get the icy powder out of her clothing while he started laughing too. Eventually she managed to get it all out and turned to him with a pointed look.

"I'm gonna get you back for that."

He didn't stop laughing. "You started it!"

"I didn't shove a bunch of snow in your jacket!"

"You threw a snowball in my face!"

"Still! Now I'm cold!"

Still laughing, he stood up straight and held his arms out. "Then get over here."

She looked at him for a minute, then rushed over and tackled him.

Lawrence hugged her tight. She buried her head in the crook of his neck and hugged him back, warmth spreading through her chest. He pressed a tender kiss to her cheek.

"My little princess," he whispered.

She looked up at him, a wide smile spreading across her face under her mask. "My prince."
