"I hope there isn't a severe containment breach while Molly's down." Billy wrung his hands.

John sighed and put his head on his knees. Ever since Dr. Collingwood had stumbled into his cell on that fateful day, he'd sworn that he would protect her and help her whatever way he could. It was the only way he could think of to repay her kindness.

Deep down, he knew he didn't deserve it one bit. He'd killed hundreds, maybe thousands, of people, yet somehow, somehow, she didn't hate him for that. Well, if she was willing to give a second chance to someone who'd mind-controlled people for his own amusement, yet became remorseful after that, then perhaps it was a little easier.

Simon settled down onto his stomach. "I hope the little one will be alright."

Charlie said nothing.

"By the way, where's Eddie?" John cocked his head to the side.

"He said that he didn't want to come here," said Charlie. "He was too upset."

"Wow. Eddie usually never gets that upset. Must've hit him pretty hard." Billy shook his head.

"It's hit all of us hard," said John. He hadn't felt this terrible since... well... the incident that made him start killing people.

"At least she's not in pain," Billy muttered.

Not that it made them feel any better.
