Knock. Knock. Knock.

The door to the guest room opened, revealing Lawrence in his nightshirt. Dr. Collingwood just stood there, wringing her hands.

"I-I had a nightmare and I couldn't fall back asleep. Is it okay if I... ?"

"Sure."

She nodded and left, coming back with her pillow and lay down next him, facing away.

He slowly wrapped his arms around her waist. "Is this okay?"

She squirmed around to face him and nodded, burying her head in his chest.

After a while she tilted her head up, her snakelike eye glowing yellow in the dark, and slowly snaked her arms around his abdomen.

"Lawrence," she whispered, "have... have you ever regretted getting together with me?"

"What? No!" Lawrence sat bolt upright. "Why would I? You're the most amazing person I've ever met!"

Dr. Collingwood slowly sat up. "Well, the fact that I have, not just one, but two SCPs baying for my blood, first and foremost. And secondly, the fact that Destiny seems to treat me like I'm its personal chew toy."

Lawrence sighed and gently but firmly stroked her jaw and neck. "Molly, you're the kindest, sweetest, and bravest person I've ever known. You've worked in the Foundation for over ten years now, and you still haven't changed. I love you, and nothing will ever change that."

She looked up at him for a second, then the unburnt side of her face slowly curled into a genuine smile and she hugged him even tighter.
