Lawrence slumped down into a chair, his head in his hands. Whenever SCPs attacked him, he was always either mostly fine or nearly dead, but Molly would fuss over him either way. He never thought that it'd be the other way around.
Funny how life works, isn't it?
After she'd been attacked by Abel he didn't think that it could possibly get any worse. It somehow did.
"Lawrence?" John sat down next to him. "You okay? You yelling at Eddie was pretty unlike you."
He sighed. "I'm just worried about her. It's just..."
God, how do I tell him about our relationship? He's completely socially clueless, and judging by what he's said about his past, he might not even know-
"I know you're in love with her," John said quietly.
Lawrence looked at him in bewilderment. "Wh-What? I thought you-"
"I knew the whole time. It's pretty obvious if you just pay attention. Have you heard yourself speak? Anyway, the only reason why I seemed clueless was because I was pretending to be. I didn't want to embarrass you guys."
"I..." he sighed. "Thanks, I guess."
"No need to thank me. The only reason why I'm good at pretending to be an idiot is because I am one."
"John! You're not an idiot! You never were!"
