Howard had taken me to see one of the "Captain America" shows mainly, because I was extremely curious and he wanted an excuse to take me out again. I couldn't believe it when I saw Steve on stage becoming a living political cartoon.

"This is what they do with him." I sat in a box seat next to Howard.

"I can't believe it either."

"I mean, I guess he is helping? Selling bonds and all." We both kept watching in fascination. Soon the show ended.

"I had all that blood taken for that," I said as I and Howard walked out of the theater.

"With time, they'll let him fight- hopefully." Howard held out his arm for me to take as we walked down the street.

"They have an army right there, and they put him in a theater! Seriously, Howard, I've never seen anything like this. Steve- Captain America, could have Hydra at its knees!"

"I agree, which is why we need to do something, I'm open to ideas."

I twirled the string of pearls I wore around my finger as I thought. "When there's any real trouble, we need to have him handle it. Think Peggy would be up to it?"

"That sounds...crazy enough that it might work! Good thinking." Howard kissed my temples.

"Someones excited."

"If you mean excited to go on another outing with you then, yes, I am."

"If you just wanted to go on another date Howard, you could've just asked."

"Next time then but for now, we have things to do."

I laughed. "Come on Howard, we have a lot of work ahead of us." I pulled Howard to the car where Mr. Jarvis was waiting for us.

Italy 1943

I was waiting backstage for Peggy, she had gone to find Steve to execute plan get-Rogers-out-of-show-business. This mission was personal for both Steve and I. The 107th Infantry had been captured by Hydra, which was Bucky's unit. It was about time we see what Captain America can do.

I saw Peggy and Steve ran by me. I ran after them, covering myself with my coat. They both stopped by a tent Colonel Philips was under, I stood behind them.

"Colonel Phillps."

"Well, if it isn't the Star-Spangled Man with A Plan. What is your plan today?"

"I need the casualty list from Azzano."

"You don't get to give me orders son."

"I just need one name, Sergeant James Barnes from the 107th." I was hoping, praying that Bucky wasn't on that list. I don't think I could've handled losing anyone else at that time.

"You and I are gonna have a conversation later that you won't enjoy."

"Please tell me if he's alive, sir. B-A-R-"

"I can spell." Steve went quiet. "I've signed more of these condolence letters today than I would care to count. But the name does sound familiar. I'm sorry." Steve looked down and, I felt my heart drop to the floor. Not Bucky, please not him.

"What about the others? Are you planning a rescue mission?" To this day, people were always the priority for Steve.

"Yes, it's called 'winning the war.'"

"But if you know where they are, why not at least-"

"They're 30 miles behind the lines through some of the most heavily fortified territory in Europe. But I don't expect you to understand that because you're a chorus girl." Oh shut the hell up.
