At this point, I thought nothing else in the future could shock me anymore but I always get proved wrong.
You see, after Peggy's house, I went to the old base to meet with Agent Maxwell to get debriefed. The greetings went fast as Maxwell had a lot to do but, he did get me set up for my mission.
"Stark is at MIT for his last year for his master's in Electronic Engineering. We'll have you signed up for those classes so you can keep him safe from a distance. I assume you'll have no trouble with participating in the class?" He pushed up his glasses.
"Not at all, I know quite a lot from the war and the golden years of shield. I can always learn also."
"Perfect and, I know you don't like to be around too many people while carrying out missions but—instead of giving you an apartment we've done something else."
I sighed, there's always a catch. "What is it?"
"You'll be rushing a sorority. But, we need you to get into Alpha Chi Omega, which Tony frequents." Like father like son. "There's a dinner you need to go to for rush week, give it all you have. After that, you'll be moving into their house."
I rubbed my face. "...Alright, anything else?"
"That's all, just look out for Tony for a while, his father is worried about his enemies going after him. I know you can do this."
I got up from my seat. I didn't even know if Tony would even want to listen to me after how I left him in '79. "I'll do my best, but sometimes I don't think Howard realizes how brilliant his son is."
He looked at me with amusement. "Well, you've known him longer than I have Agent Harding."
"I'll check in when I land in Boston. Goodbye Agent Maxwell."
That was the day before.
Now I had arrived in Boston late in the night, standing out the airport with Levi's jeans and sunglasses over my face. I was waiting to get the signal through my earpiece for an agent to pick me up and take me to a temporary hotel room. This seemed all too familiar but there was no way hell what I thought could happen would again. After all, once I've been to my hotel room I would no longer need a driver. I just had to visit a place once and then I could essentially use my biological connection to get there.
Then, a dark blue car pulled up as I heard a static sound from my earpiece. It was the signal that my driver had arrived. I stored what luggage I had in the truck and got in the car. It immediately drove off.
The drive through Boston was quiet and peaceful as the agent who was driving me didn't speak much besides the usual "hello" in a slight British accent, which was a little odd, when I got in the car. I also didn't see his face as a hat covered it. I guess they didn't have much info to relay to me at the time.
I was a little tired from the flight and a little sleep would've been nice but, I had to put this mission first. Tony's safety depended on it.
After a while, we had got to the hotel which wasn't as luxurious as the one in Las Vegas but that wasn't the image I needed for this mission instead, I had to act like an eager college student who's been accepted into her dream college on her way to get her dream job. It was kind of inspiring actually.
Once I got out of the car and grabbed my luggage out of the trunk, the agent drove off to park in the parking garage so he could drive me to the dinner for new "pledges" willing to join a sorority.
I walked into the hotel building and went straight up to the man at the desk who stared at me with surprise on his face.
"How...can I help you?" I looked up to get a better look at him. The man had shorter-length black hair, medium-tan skin, and a rosy tint on his cheeks. He also seemed to be in his 20s, the same as me when you don't count the various decades I've awoken in. He was startled by me, maybe he wasn't paying attention.
