Your p.o.v

I keep having this dream. It's been the same dream since the day I was rescued. I'm in this house that I don't recognize. The colors within the room are so vibrant, almost making it feel like this is my home. The rays of the morning sun peeked through the windows while I could hear small birds chirping in the background. But what's strange of all is that there's a child, two in fact, that follow me everywhere in my dream. I always forget their features but they cling to me every second when I'm around them. At the end of my dream...I always put a backpack on the two kids, give them a lunchbox and kiss them goodbye and a man goes through the front door, smiling and hugging the kids. It's always in that cycle but I wonder how long it will continue before the dream becomes a nightmare...

"Okay Eri, are you ready?" Dr. Shun asked Eri with a lizard in his hands. Eri nodded and gently took the lizard away from our doctor with a glint of confidence in her eyes. A white aura glowed around her as her horn extended a bit, causing the lizard to rewind in previous stages. As it turned into a baby, the aura slowly faded away. Over the days we've been here in the hospital, Eri has been getting a lot better at controlling her powers. Although, she hasn't really practiced on anything else except for lizards. Shun explained to me his plan of bringing my friends back alive but...I'm not sure how Eri will feel about that.

"(Y/n), how are you feeling? Does anything feel off?" My doctor asked me with concerned eyes. I hummed a bit, feeling around my legs and listened into my surroundings in case I heard him. I didn't feel anything unsettling, good.

"Everything's fine. I don't feel any pain or hear his voice." I reported back. He sighed with relief and proceeded to give out lizards to Eri. I kept my attention on Eri and Shun until I heard a knock at the door. We all turned our attention to who it was standing by the door frame. It was only my psychiatrist, Mrs. Saku. She gave me a small smile before she invited herself inside the room.

"Good morning (y/n), Eri, and Shun. How are you all doing today?" She asked. Shun and Eri replied with good while I muttered an 'okay'.

"I'm going to need to have a moment with (y/n) and Eri, their parents are here to visit them." She informed him. My eyes widened a bit and I turned to Eri, who had the same expression as me. I could feel a smile creep on my face as I got up, grabbing Eri's hand softly.

"That's fine. Take as much time as you need. We'll proceed with our experiment later." My doctor reassured my physiatrist and I as he began to place the lizards back in the box. Eri waved bye to Shun as we walked alongside Saku out of the room, leaving him alone. We proceeded to walk down the hall as I was still hand in hand with Eri. I felt her squeeze my hand a bit, making me look down at her. Her red eyes were filled with concern and her face had sad written all over it.

"What's wrong, Eir?" I asked her.

"Are you okay?" She replied to me with her head tilted a bit. I was a bit thrown off but I nodded.

"Why do you ask that?"

"Because I heard you screaming days ago and I couldn't see you...and I didn't see you yesterday in your room." She told me, making me instantly look towards Mrs. Saku to see if she heard Eri. She only kept walking and started at the path in front of her. I sighed sharply and leaned next to Eri.

"Eri, you can't leave your hospital room, okay?" I whispered next to her ear.

"But I wanted to see you-"

"I know but you can't do that. I don't want you to get into trouble if you get caught," I looked back at Mrs. Saku and sighed a bit again, "how about...I come see you, okay? So you don't have to get in trouble. How does that sound?" I explained to Eri, watching her eyes light up a bit. She quickly nodded and the corners of her lips peaked up a bit but were stuck. She's trying to smile...but can't.
