Eri's eyes opened slowly, blinking a few times before she was fully awake in bed. Rubbing her eyes and yawning, she sat up in bed. It took her a moment for her eyes to adjust to the morning sun that filled the room. She turned to face (y/n), who was still asleep beside her. Eri reached her hand over to (y/n)'s shoulder, gently tapping it.
"(Y/n), wake up. We have to get ready." Eri softly whispered to her, making her groan in her sleep. Eri tapped her again, having (y/n) open her eyes halfway.
"What is it?" (Y/n) mumbled.
"We have to get ready for school." Said oblivious Eri, only making (y/n) remember that she wasn't aware of their mother's proposal of having them be homeschooled.
"Eri, we can't go to school just yet. Mom wants to talk about us being homeschooled." (Y/n) explained briefly to Eri but she was met with a confused look.
"Why can't we go today? So we can tell everyone bye if we do get homeschooled?" Eri tried to convince (y/n) but (y/n) turned her back to Eri, covering herself with the blanket.
"We're not going today. Just go back to sleep. It's really early." (Y/n) groaned once more before drifting off back to sleep. Eri was left puzzled and a bit sad, now not being able to tell the students at U.A 'bye'. The girl's eyes looked at (Y/n)'s sleeping form before an idea popped into her head. As quietly as she could, Eri crawled out of bed, making her way to her dresser to get ready. Tip-toeing her way around the room, Eri got herself dressed, brushed her hair and even went to the bathroom to pack her toothbrush. Her plan was to go to school by herself. Holding her red bag tightly, Eri walked through the house, taking one deep breath before she stepped to the front door. In silence, she examined the door...but didn't move a muscle. She tried stepping forward but even her legs felt shaky. The child gulped nervously, taking another step as she reached her hand out to the doorknob.
"Psst." A sound suddenly came from the window. Eri gasped, turning her head quickly to the noise. The nerves in her body felt like they were washed away. It was Midoriya, at the window of their dining room. He cracked the window a bit more, sticking his head through with a gentle smile on his face.
"What are you doing here, Midoriya?" Eri tilted her head, looking down at his hands. In his left hand was two coloring books and a crayon box. A small, 'oh', escaped Izuku's mouth from Eri's question as he handed her the children's coloring book and crayons.
"Be quiet so (Y/n) doesn't wake up suddenly. These are for you," Izuku said as Eri carefully grabbed the books and crayons, "Be good for (Y/n) while I'm gone, okay?" Izuku whispered before he backed away from the window, leaving Eri there.
"Wait-" Before Eri could call out for Izuku- he was gone. Eri's recent memory of Midoriya was from when (Y/n) was in trouble and ended up in the hospital but she remembered that he came in and saved her life. She wanted to thank him but it was too late now. The girl looked between the front door and then to the window, quickly giving up her idea of going to school alone. Instead, Eri pulled out a chair, opening one of the coloring books and the crayon box. After a few moments of silence, a pair of footsteps echoed through the hallway, having Eri look up. (Y/n) rubbed her eyes that was followed by a yawn.
"Good morning. Want some breakfast?" (Y/n) asked Eri. The girl nodded and continued back to her drawings. (Y/n) hummed a bit as she was about to pass by Eri but the two coloring books caught her attention.
"Eri...where did you get those from?" (Y/n) asked with suspicion in her voice. The child froze with fear, feeling her heart race from the question.
"I found them outside." Eri lied. Her voice was shaky when she answered, making (Y/n) narrow her eyes a bit. (Y/n) leaned a bit forward, having her hand on top of the table.
