"Am I heavy, bro?" tanong ni Thaddeus ng buhatin ko siya para maisakay sa wheel chair.
"Sakto lang." medyo naiilang na sagot ko.
Nagulat pa nga ako ng bigla siyang tumawa habang nakaturo sa mukha ko.
"Hindi ko alam kung paano ang trato natin sa isa't-isa noon, bro. Pero pansin ko lang, ha? Parang naiilang ka kasi sa akin? Siguro hindi tayo close bilang magkapatid, or we are fighting most of the time?" natatawa pa rin na sabi niya.
"Come on, bro. Whatever and however we treated each other before just please forget it, leave the not so good events in the past if there's some and let's start a new as a family."
"Ah.. Yeah." iyon lang ang naisagot ko sa kanya at sa mga oras na iyon aaminin ko na gusto ko ang sinabi niya.
I want to start a new life with my Family. I want to make memories with a new heart Kyla, I want to witness her new experiences and journey despite the fact that she would not be a normal child because of her condition. The heart transplant only prolonged her life and gave her a chance to have a lighter and more comfortable life than before. A life without the shortness of breath, the chest pains and heart attacks. I want to see her enjoying the different rides in EK, I want to see her first ever run and be soaked in sweat. I want to experience sending and picking her up at school.
I want to be with my Mom more often, eat the food she cooks, take good care by her, I want to feel the warmth of her embrace just like before as if I am still a kid. I want to hear from her how she loves every member of our family.
I want to see how genuinely happy my father as of now, I want to see the excitement and contentment in his eyes while staring at our family everytime we are in just one room. I would like to watch him be excited to go home with his family.
And also.. I want to start a new life with Thaddeus, I want to get along with him well, I want to do stuffs with him just like the other normal brothers were doing.
Napakarami kong gusto, at ang lahat ng iyon ay gusto kong gawin na kasama ang babaeng mahal ko. Pero alam kong hindi pa pwede, kaya lalaban na lang muna ako ng mag-isa. Kikilos ako ng wala siya. Balang araw, gusto kong marinig mula sa kanya na proud siya sa mga nagawa at narating ko sa buhay. Kasi ako, ngayon pa lang ay sobrang proud na ako dahil sigurado ako na magtatagumpay siya, na makakamit niya ang mga pangarap niya kahit magkalayo kaming dalawa.
She is the strongest person I've ever met. Nakaya niya lahat ng mga masasakit na pangyayari sa buhay niya.
"I cant wait to walk again." sabi ni Thaddeus habang nakasakay kami sa sasakyan papunta sa unit.
"I will not allow you to drive again, son." maagap na sabi ni Mommy sa kanya, napangiti na lang ako dahil mula sa rear view mirror ay nakita ko kung paanong humaba ang nguso niya pagkarinig sa sinabi ni Mommy.
"Too bad that I have a plan to give him a new car." sabi naman ni Daddy na ngayon ay katabi ko sa passenger's seat. Ako ang nagmamaneho, nasa likod si Mommy at Thaddeus, naiwan naman sa unit si Manang at Kyla.
"You heard that, Mom?" tanong ni Thaddeus.
"Yeah, but I am the boss here." sagot ni Mommy.
"Dad?" naninigurado naman na tanong nito kay Daddy.
