Aya and I moved from shop to shop, barely stopping at the shops. Aya studied each shop and item with a single sweep of her eyes. Aya received glares from passing elves, humans, and dwarves.

She ignored those people and enjoyed our "Date" all the more. The elves and humans made sure to glare at me when they saw Aya hold my hand and excitedly talk to me.

Dwarves don't have the same taste in women that humans and elves have. They prefer muscular and burly women. It's pretty disturbing when a ten-year-old female dwarf has a beard.

Aya was enjoying this "Date," despite my insistence that it isn't a date. She kept hooking her arm with my own and asking me for an opinion on the clothes she bought.

"Noah, come quickly!" Aya impatiently called for me.

"What is it?" I questioned.

"How does this look on me?" She asked as she twirled around.

She was wearing a white dress that stopped right above her ankles. The white dress complimented her black hair and eyes. All in all, she looked amazing.

"That looks good on you," I muttered, looking away with a slight blush.

"Come on, try this one." Aya handed me a bag filled with clothes. She had a genuinely happy smile.

"Fine," I relented with a sigh, taking the bag and walking to the changing rooms.

I came out of the changing room and found Aya, who was impatiently waiting near the rooms. She smiled at me and was about to talk when a high pitch caught our attention.

"Lance Aya, you are required to report to the council immediately. Lance Alea is late for her report." A voice stated through the two-way communication scroll.

The voice didn't wait for Aya to reply, and the scroll shriveled up and burned. Aya was about to talk, but another high pitch brought our attention to a communication scroll that appeared in my hand.

"Noah, the council wants you to report to them immediately," Kaspian spoke through the two-way communication scroll.

"What's going?" I asked Kaspian through the scroll.

"I'm not exactly sure, but the council asked a few S-class adventurers to report to them as soon as possible," Kaspian explained while rubbing his forehead.

"I see. Thank you." I muttered as the scroll disappeared.

"I suppose we have another date," Aya spoke with a seductive tone.

"For the last time, this wasn't a date." I groaned.

The warzone created by the hundreds of snarler bodies scattered and piled on top of each other seemed like it was from a children's picture book compared to the scene that I couldn't seem to peel my eyes away.

Corpses. The corpses of humans, elves, and dwarves lay dead, some in pieces around the cavern that would've been beautiful if not for the bodies.

The once green grass-like moss spread over the ground was dyed red while the stream crossing through the cavern had floating bodies with blood spreading around them.

There were around forty-fifty corpses spread out in the cavern with their weapons next to them. The damage done to their bodies revealed torture as some had their limbs torn apart, and others had cuts all over their beheaded bodies.

I heard her cough again. "Are you... still there?" The weak voice came from my left.

"I can't see... oh." My heart dropped, and I couldn't even finish my sentence.
