"Do you see it?" I asked.
"There it is." Ellie pointed towards something small moving in the snow.
"Take a deep breath and steady your aim," Helen instructed.
Ellie took a deep breath, closing one of her eyes while the other locked onto the mana beast. Ellie drew back her bow's string, and a pure mana arrow formed. The mana beast didn't sense the use of mana thanks to Ellie hiding her mana signature with a prototype of Mirage walk.
Ellie let go of the string, and the arrow shot forward. The mana beast felt the projectile approaching it and quickly started running away, but Ellie's spell curved upward, following the mana beast before spreading into multiple shards. The pig-like mana beast cried out as the arrows penetrated its skin.
"Great shot, Ellie!" Nilendra exclaimed before Ellie put her bow down and ran off towards her prey.
"Do you want to correct her mistake?" I sighed and exchanged glances with Helen.
"I think her older brother should be doing this." Helen chuckled and gestured with her arms grandly.
"I didn't see anything wrong. Ellie's arrows hit the mana beast's heart and hind legs." Camelia frowned as I stored Ellie's bow in my dimensional ring.
I didn't reply but picked up Ellie's bow and then walked towards her. Ellie tied up the mana beast's legs to drag it around as I approached and looked up at me with a proud grin.
"You made a big mistake." I crossed my arm.
"What?" Ellie's brows shot up, her confident and proud grin replaced with confusion.
"You left your bow on the ground. You should never leave your weapon even if you think the enemy or target is dead." I chastised.
"Sorry," Ellie mumbled while staring at the ground.
"Your shot was amazing, but make sure to be more careful in the future." I patted her head.
"I guess I'm next?" I could barely see Nilendra as powder white snow covered his black hair.
"Nope. Time for us to go back." I quipped, dropping a blanket on Ellie.
"Alright." He sighed.
Nilendra Bladeheart is Claire's older brother. He's a mid silver core augmenter. Considering he didn't get any help in advancing his core, he's very talented. Unlike Claire, he's only a wind augmenter but a talented one.
He was a captain in the trailblazer unit, which disbanded after the Alacryans took over. He's been helping people escape and hide while the Alacryans were spreading over the continent. Curtis recognized him and brought him to the underground city, where he reunited with Kaspian and Claire and then met me for the first time.
Nilendra made sure to glare at me and asked me to make his sister happy but warned me about going too far. I awkwardly chuckled as Claire dragged him away by his earlobe. Nilendra's eyes widened when Kaspian laughed and told him that Claire was pregnant.
He would follow me when I went out to research, hunt, or train. I wasn't sure what he was planning, but it looked like he wanted to help me. We would often go out hunting with each other, taking turns to show off. Camelia was an elf that Jasmine saved after a ravager killed her family. She also comes hunting with us if Ellie is.
"Come on," I called out, conjuring a teleportation gate.
Ellie and Camelia jumped through the portal first, followed by Helen, Nilendra, and me. Our surroundings blurred as the portal transported us to the main sanctuary.
