"Mere lessers dare to step into my den?" The phoenix's eyes shot open.

"Hello, sir, we would like to redeem our leave the dungeon coupon," Regis spoke in a businessman-like tone.

"You can redeem it after you die!" The phoenix suddenly flew high in the air.

"Not good!" I shouted, taking cover behind a pile of gold while Regis hid inside me.

The phoenix let out a shrill roar before firing a wave of scorching red flames where we were standing. Its breath melted down everything.

I looked where we were and saw that the wall turned in swiss cheese after receiving an attack from a full-blooded phoenix.

'Terrible customer service! I'm giving them a one-star.' Regis leaped out of my body and stood in front of the phoenix.

"Maybe give them the rating after the beating." I quipped.

Purple flames erupted from Regis and created a cyclone of purple flames to hide Regis. A sudden pressure alarmed the phoenix as the flames dispersed and revealed Regis in the destruction form.

Regis dashed forward and rammed the phoenix into the wall before yelling. "They always like it rough!"

Shaking my head with a feeble smile, I created an aether sword and darted forward. The phoenix narrowed its eyes in focus before flapping its wings repeatedly, creating a cyclone of red fire, which Regis couldn't resist as it flung him into the air.

"Go away!" The phoenix fired another stream of red fire directly at me.

"How about I come closer instead?" I godstepped out of the fire's range and behind the phoenix.

The phoenix looked behind, and its eyes widened as it let out a squeal. "P-Pervert!"

'Pervert?' I echoed in my mind as I realized this phoenix was actually a female. My jaw dropped, and I stood there stunned, unable to do anything as the phoenix swung its tail and launched me away.

'Wow, smooth moves, princess.' Regis commented through our bond, firing a purple fireball at the phoenix.

'Shut it.' I snapped, wiping the blood off my lips.

The phoenix flew high in the air and took a deep breath for a few seconds before letting out orange flames. The flames moved quickly, and to my surprise, those orange flames destroyed the purple fireball before reaching Regis, who barely got scraped by the fire.

"What the hell?!" Regis was dumbstruck as the phoenix landed back.

"A weak spell like that wouldn't have hurt me anyway." The phoenix huffed.

I could feel the rage boiling up within my companion, so I quickly talked to him. 'She's right, Regis. That phoenix's healing powers might be stronger than even mine.

'Shit.' Regis cursed.

"We want to get out of here. If you let us go, we'll let you live." I stated.

"You disturbed my sleep, so you must die." The phoenix spat.

I gripped my sword tightly and godstepped forward. The phoenix quickly prepared to fly, but using spatial defiance, I trapped it on the ground, forcing it to use its melee attacks due to the distance between us.

The phoenix swung its claws, but I sidestepped and swung my sword up, but I didn't stop there. I continued to slash and stab, injuring the phoenix greatly. The phoenix let out a shrill scream as it finally broke from my spell.

The phoenix swung its tail at me as it broke out of spatial defiance, the godrune that allowed me to manipulate the aether particles to act like an invisible and unbreakable hand.
