Azrael Indarth Pov

Our surroundings blurred as the two of us used Uriel's teleportation gate to go to Xyrus. The blue blur eventually disappeared as we found ourselves in Xryus, but something was wrong.

"It's too quiet..." Caera muttered.

"There aren't any guards either." I nodded.

I pulled out my longsword from the dimensional ring that Cathan gifted me while Caera took out a long red sword from her dimensional ring.

Caera and I nodded at each other before moving out. We covered each other with me taking point. To my dismay, the silence didn't stop there since we couldn't find a single person out there.

There was no damage to Xyrus, but no one was on the streets, and the silence was still there.

"Klystis isn't someone who ambushes others, so we don't have to be stealthy," I stated.

"You could've said that from the start," Caera whined.

"I wanted to make sure there was no else here, so I kept quiet," I replied, my eyes studying every inch of Xyrus.

A sudden pressure appearing made my hair stand on its end. Caera and I quickly whirled around towards the source.

Slowly walking towards us was a tall, hulking woman. Her pitch-black armor seemed to be sucking in the light as she slowly drew nearer. Caera and I gritted our teeth and got into a stance.

"It's unfortunate that you have decided to betray us as well, Caera Denoir," Klystis stated, standing around fifty feet away from us.

"You know me?" Caera raised a brow.

"Yes, Seris spoke very highly of you, so it's unfortunate that the two of you betrayed us." Klystis nodded.

"You won't live long enough to keep thinking it's unfortunate." Caera taunted.

"Do you really wish to challenge me?" Klystis asked as a greatsword appeared in her hand.

Caera nodded at me, and I dashed forward, striking Klystis with my sword. Klystis stumbled a little but still managed to block my strike.

Caera quickly jumped in with her own sword and slashed Klystis, forcing her to block again. I spun around and delivered a strike that broke Klystis' guard, giving Caera the chance to attack her armor.

Klystis cursed as Caera's sword managed to bruise her. Klystis swung her sword in a wide arc, which Caera blocked, but the strike still sent her skidding to a stop to the side.

A guttural roar tore its way through my throat as I delivered a quick succession of strikes. Klystis was forced back on the defensive as she parried all my attacks.

"This is futile," Klystis commented while blocking my attacks.

"Is it?" I retorted with a smirk.

I increased the output of my mana, startling Klystis, who began to take me seriously. Klystis pushed me back and raised her sword for a downward strike, but Caera blocked it with her sword.

Klystis frowned as she gripped her sword with both hands. Klystis pressed down hard with her sword, causing the floor beneath Caera to crack. I quickly elbowed Klystis, causing her to jump back and gasp for air.

Caera gripped her sword tightly as soulfire formed and enveloped it. I opened my other palm as another longsword appeared in it. These longswords were made by the Djinn a few centuries ago. They were old but also durable and sharp.

Klystis took off her helmet and tossed it behind her, letting her obsidian black hair flow in the wind. She studied us for a moment before disappearing.
