Cathan Leywin Pov
I stood silently in front of the river. Letting myself feel the mana around me. Although I couldn't see it, I studied the movement of the aether around me, moving around curiously.
"Hello, Windsom." I sated, my eyes still locked on the water.
"It seems you were able to sense me, Cathan." Windsom walked up to me in his usual attire.
"You're not trying to hide, you know?" I picked up a rock and flung it across the river.
"Indeed I am not." Windsom stood by my side as we watched the river. "Congratulations on reaching the integration stage."
"You don't seem happy, excited, or even intrigued that I became as strong as the scythes," I commented.
"You might be a powerhouse, but you are still outnumbered," Windsom stated. "And with the death of Arthur Leywin and Lady Sylvie, Lord Indarth asked that I bring Lord Azrael back."
"Not happening." I denied.
"It is Lord Indarth's request. Are you denying him of his only remaining grandchild?" Windsom glared at me.
"I am." I turned to face Windsom.
"Perhaps you have forgotten your place." Windsom pulled out a spear.
"You're the one who forgot his place, Windsom." I threatened.
'He is dangerous, master.' Athena warned.
"You are powerless against me, Cathan," Windsom stated.
"You seem to forget who I can summon with the snap of my finger," I snapped my finger to emphasize my point.
"No lesser stands a chance against me." Windsom scoffed.
"Maybe lessers don't, but what about a weapon? Maybe a weapon like Miras?" I stepped forward as Windsom's expression changed for the first time into that of horror.
Windsom held his spear for a moment, contemplating what he should do. Windsom let go of his spear, and it disappeared. We continued to glare at each other for a silent moment.
"Lord Indarth will hear of this," Windsom warned as he waved his hand and created a teleportation gate.
"Now that's that over, I can finally get some rest." I sighed.
I walked into my house and sank into the couch next to Azrael's bed. I let out a long sigh and stroked Azrael's head as I imagined how wrong the meeting with Windsom could've gone.
Suddenly I could feel a pain in my temple as if someone was driving a hot nail into my brain. I didn't scream and gritted my teeth through the pain. The pain suddenly disappeared, and I took a deep breath to calm myself when a voice I knew all too well started to speak.
"Hello, Cathan." I heard the familiar voice of Miras.
"Miras?" I couldn't hide the feeling of excitement boiling within me.
"I'm recording this message at the same time as the first message," Miras stated.
I let out a chuckle as the thought of Miras forming his consciousness washed away. "Where would he even get the mana from?"
"I am proud you have reached the integration stage. You are the first human to reach this stage since the Djinn sent me to that dimension." Miras continued.
